Just to be clear, is Dolson willing to make Stevens the highest paid coach in sports in the world? In the US? In college athletics? Or in college basketball? Because that is a pretty large range. World - Diego Simeone ~$49M. US - Belichick - rumored to be ~$20M. College athletics - Saban ~$9.3M. College basketball - Calipari ~$8.1M.

I 100% believe this is true. Let me break some more news for you. Indiana has not yet reached out to Stevens, Matta, Beilein, or any other coach, but I bet that IU has reached out to their agents or representatives. I don't know if this is just someone being cute with the words they are using, but not reaching out to them is different than not reaching out to their reps.

    Archie. Miller. Fired.

Okay, forget about tracking flights from Bloomington to Boston. Is there any way to track Brinks trucks instead?

Chris007, do you know if IU even talked to Brad in 2017? I have heard that Fred Glass kinda zeroed in on Archie from the beginning and we didn't really consider anyone else. Is that true?

Ken has been too busy chasing around ambulances to weigh in, but I would guess he would say "Hire Brad Stevens, (snaps fingers) it's just that easy!"

If we are bringing back a former coach, let's go get Sampson. Is it a NCAA violation for me to text him to see if he is interested?

I am actually assuming it is because they don't have cell phone service in Waco and he has been too busy building a winning program to stand by a pay phone waiting for a call from another team.

Have you ever been to Waco, TX? It is the place where hope went to die. They can't fill a 7,000 seat arena when they are a tournament team. They have more pay phones per capita than basketball fans. I am not even joking, Waco still has pay phones. When is the last time you actually saw a pay phone. The question isn't why would he want to leave, the question is why would he want to stay.
  12. Unfortunately, this is not a bug, this is a feature.
  13. I wish there was a positive spin on this but facts are facts.
  14. Has anyone ever had a terrible boss and just completely given up on a job and found so much freedom by not being oppressed by the expectations of a soulless dictator that they did their best work ever? That is probably incredibly specific and most people haven’t been there, but I think it is what is happening to IU.
  15. Where has this team been all year?
  16. There are a lot of BS calls. Maybe the Big Ten refs are trying to call it tight to get teams ready for the tourney.
  17. The D looks great. Some of the best they have played all year

You forgot to add that half of the rumors about Matta are that he can't walk, and the other half are that he wants to coach again and has recently been seen deadlifting farm equipment.

Fran also managed to hit .500 twice in his first four years, where Archie only managed it once.

Ding, Ding, Ding! You win the satisfaction of knowing that Archie Miller is on par with Fran McCaffery in his first four years.

Let's play a game. Name all of the current Big Ten coaches that have coached for at least 4 years in the Big Ten (so exclude Ferry, Howard, and Hoiberg) that have not achieved a winning record in conference play in their first 4 years coaching in the Big Ten.
