My gosh, we actually hired a college basketball coach. Not a nice-guy assistant, not a snake oil cheater, not a motivational speaker, not a kid riding on his family and former coach’s success, not an NBA elitist. No cheerleading, no promises of banners, just a commitment to work hard and do the fundamental things. We hired a college basketball coach! God be praised!

I think we should abbreviate coach as DDD (Darien Dale DeVries). Just looks cooler imo.

This is why I’m glad we didn’t make the tournament. It put a stop to “IU fans are toxic, Woody got them to the tournament 3 out of 4 years.”

This just doesn’t jive with a contract has already been signed, which coaching changes said was from an unimpeachable source.

Yes, these are guys who have been reliable for the whole time I’ve been here. Newcomers should not knock them. Hope chris007 and others like him continue to share.

It could be Brad, but the level of secrecy alluded to by Jerry—with a threat— seems a bit much just to not hurt Woodson’s feelings. Far more likely it’s someone currently coaching who wants to finish the year.

With Brads money they could live in Bloomington and he could fly his daughter to school in Boston!

I spent the week at the Big Ten Tournament with my 10 year old basketball loving son, telling him about the glory days when IU ruled. So great to think he might get to experience what I experienced when I was a kid and teen. Let the rebuild begin!!!!

The new Coach needs time to officially notify the Cel—I mean, his current employer. So no press conference tomorrow. Next day schedule conference and planning….yep, Wednesday or Thursday would sound about right. Guys, this is gonna be great!!!!!

Will we get an announcement about IU declining any post season offers like Chris Collin’s made for Northwestern? If so, when? Would that be Dolson’s call, or Woody’s?

I wake up and this thread is sure BS is imminent. Great joy. I drive to the big ten tourney, hop back on, and the thread is sure it’s Brownell. Deep dark depression. I watch Dusty win the tournament, rage and fury that Dolson didn’t grab him last year. Just got home and now it looks like Brownell is out. Major relief. I’m gonna need therapy if these emotional swings continue! Just to confirm, Brownell is truly dead right? No undertaker memes reversing this?
