  1. Also they get feedback about playing professionally whether it is in the NBA or overseas. Did you do an internship while in college? That's kind of what this is like. They will be told what they need to work on to become a professional basketball player. College coaches encourage this, and I know for a fact that ours does.

(2017) PG McKinley Wright to Colorado

I think IU contacted Wright to let him know we are interested if some people leave and a spot opens up. But also to let him know if he needs to make a decision soon then IU is not the place for him because no room right now. Something like that.
  3. OK even if that is correct, even though the ESPN article i quoted said it wasn't. Wilkes didn't go to UCLA for Schilling, he wasn't even the lead recruiter for him. That is why I said it was different situations.
  4. Got it, didn't realize that and :-) will start typing it out from now on. Thank you for the heads up.
  5. Yes and totally different situation than Wilkes.
  6. In this article it says it first started out asking because of the assistant leaving but that it actually was he made his decision too soon. So after talking with Coach Ollie he was released. http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/19046893/espn-100-pg-makai-ashton-langford-requests-release-uconn-commitment
  7. So he asked for his release. Was it given? Do you think Alford & UCLA would grant Wilkes his release?
  8. If he doesn't go to UCLA he will have to sit out a whole year. No player has ever been granted a release because an assistant left.
  9. He was at UMASS wiith Flint and Cal got in trouble there but not sure they had anything to do with that.
  10. Actually I announced it on here two hours ago before anyone said it on 24/7.
  11. He recruited Wilkes to UCLA and was the lead recruiter for Romeo for UCLA.
  12. I believe he & Sean are very close. Was in Sean's wedding or something like that.
  13. He's been wanting to get back to the midwest for a while. He knows Indiana well with being the coach at both Park Tudor & Western Boone. Knows the Millers well. Also coached at UMASS with Bruiser Flint so he knows him. Was also an assistant with New Jersey Nets.
  14. Ed Schiling will be the last assistant coach coming over from UCLA. What a staff with Olstrom, Flint, and Schilling with Elston & Comar. Good things in our future. I have no sources just things I'm hearing
  15. Comar is Archie's right hand man. Comar might be the only person more detailed then Archie. Comar has always done all of the scheduling along with Archie, and their already working on IU's. He is very good at what he does.
  16. I think the same can be said if Michael Lewis becomes our 3rd then Eric Hunter would sign with us. He has either already visited or will visit Nebraska.
  17. One thing you are correct about is that Elston very well could be back next year in the same role. Flint & Olstrom are in for sure and are here in Bloomington.
  18. Nothing can be confirmed until it as been posted for a certain amount of time due to University regulations.
  19. I thought it was widely known that Arch was bringing two people with him which ended up being Comer & Olstram. Comer will be and already is the DOBO. Their already working on the schedule together. Elston is still with the team and could end up being the DOPD. As far as reported I don't know but I have seen it.
  20. Elston's job has already been filled with Bill Comer who was DOB at Dayton, Arizona & Xavier.
  21. I don't believe Calbert is interested in getting back into coaching at this point and if he does I don't think he wants to put in the time to get to know all of the coaches in the state. JMO from what I have heard
  22. Also due to University regulations the positions has to be posted for a certain amount of time before they can be officially announced as to who got them.
