(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
Chris007 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
As of right now, I don't think the staff is recruiting Watford any longer. We will see this summer if that is true. I was told the Watford family called wanting to know why the staff hadn't been down to see him play this year. There was a reason why we haven't. But the family really wants IU to recruit him. -
(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke

I was told last night that IU is still very much in play with Hurt. The staff has been relentless with him. -

Totally agree that was terrible. Those two guys didn't want to be answering those questions. I felt uncomfortable for both of them -

I think he already has by asking media members to ask Romeo if he will be taking another visit to Vandy. -

And it is taking a long time to pick a team. -

I've heard in the last 24 hours that all three are the leader from different people. I honestly don't think Romeo knows for sure yet. -

Yes I have heard they are worried they won't be done in time and will be offering people money for a hotel in August. -

Cook Hall is just fine. It has a renovated weight room, two practice courts, very nice video room, coaches office and everything you need to succeed. The only thing that IU is behind on is a really nice locker room. Where did that nice practice facility get Duke, Nebraska, UK this year? If players want to get better they will be in Cook Hall getting better all summer long. -

I think it was to Dunnhill than the Villas. It's right behind the convenient store. Now they just to hurry and get it finished. It looks like they are behind schedule of being move in ready in August. -
I'm going to be polite and disagree with a lot of what you said. First off we saw some glimpses of what VO could do but his freshman year but he couldn't shoot outside 10 feet. So unless you were in cook hall every day of the summer watching him put up 500 shots a day you had no idea what kind of jump he was going to make. I said after watching open gym last year I didn't think we would be very good this year but ended up better than I thought. Romeo is just a one year player but as you said Cody brought in Yogi well Romeo committing to IU is going to bring other players from the state to IU in the upcoming years. Also last season the players had no idea what the offseason was going to be like or the way Archie would coach them this season. This offseason there is no questions so everyone knows what to expect, plus the older guys can lead the younger guys. With Romeo, we have two legitimate pros along with Morgan. I agree some people sell us too high but you're selling us too low.

How come I'm not surprised that Goodman doesn't know that rule. I'm just not a fan of his.

I don't think so from reading their message boards. But I will get this back to Romeo and say that I can't wait for him to decide next month -

It's Mack. Should be announced by the beginning of next week. Probably will spend Monday telling his players at Xavier. -

I think there will be one, but that's it. I have no idea who that is. I also agree after the last 9 years were just use to people leaving. -

I would still go with Devonte at the point, Romeo at the two, then RP & Taylor coming off the bench. Makes the whole team stronger. -

Also it is very good that he will be living with Juwon. I think those two will bond and it will really show in Green's game next year. -

As I said the talk of Green leaving has been overblown by fans. Green or the staff has never thought it was a possibility -

It sounds more like 7 years for 30-35 million. His wife is from Louisville & his in-laws are big supporters of U of L. -

Well Pitt's AD is an attorney and worked for the NCAA in compliance so if she will hire him than others should think about it.

Well I will tell you that Romeo is option 1, Ryan Taylor is option 2, another guard grad transfer is option 3, a juco guard is option 4, then a big man grad transfer is next. Now we might use two scholarships on guards & if another one opens up then get a big guy. Or we might go Romeo & big. But Ryan Taylor is someone they want bad -
McCarty was coached up pretty good by Stevens for his interview & Stevens made a nice call on his behalf too. I don't think CC said all of the right things in his interview. He was telling people he really wanted the job but some are not sure he really wants to put in the work of a head coach. I don't think he wanted it as much as the people he was going to hire wanted him to get it.
