Bye, Felicia.

Ha! You got a point. I was just trying to put some perspective into the math average comments.
-
If you're going to break it down in the terms of math averages you should then probably consider his full body of work. Here's a good example, Bob Knight his first 19 years went to the dance 9 times and 7 conference championships. I was only talking about the NCAA. He's been to the dance the last 6 years in a row. He's won the NIT and has only missed a post season tournament 3 times during his 19 year career. Coaching for 9 years at Winthrop he only missed the NCAA twice. And at WSU he's only missed a post season tournament once. And one could argue a NIT bid at a school like WSU is more than likely an at-large NCAA tournament bid for IU. Because, well, it's Indiana University aka see the name of this website. Yeah, I would call that pretty consistent.

Based on results, Marshall. His teams win conferences (13 out of 19 years) and go dancing (13 out of 19 years) on a consistence basis. I look at the question being, Upside vs Consistency. I'll take consistency every single time, especially if he's coaching at a school like IU.

Man, I thought he was faster than high 4.7s? The Dude abides.

The 5 Biggest Recruiting Misses of the Tom Crean Era
Lebowski replied to AKHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hear ya. But my point was to point out those kids are in the backyard. Having them in for dinner from time to time keeps them playing in the backyard. -

Sports Illustrated says 80% chance Crean is out.
Lebowski replied to cherrykd's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That makes sense, I guess. In my opinion losing in-state talent is par for the course. Win championships and a chance to play in the NBA attracts talent, right? Also, does Crean recruit hard in-state? I could be wrong but I've always thought he really doesn't recruit that hard here, because he doesn't have to. I mean we're talking about Indiana. Oh OK. I get it now. I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to X's and O's. I still like Marshall though because he's a proven winner wherever he's coached. -
Sports Illustrated says 80% chance Crean is out.
Lebowski replied to cherrykd's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The very last sentence clearly says it all. " If Crean vacates, Indiana’s coaching search would dictate the market." He talked about both Mack's and Miller's recent success and made it seem like the "logical" hire should be region based. Isn't that an oxymoron considering in the same article he said "Indiana projects as the best job on the open market this season." Wouldn't most of the logical fit here be a national search for the best available coach and not be a regional search? Also, I wonder why Pete Thamel thinks Marshall doesn't seem like a good fit? And zero mention of Donovan or Stevens. Go figure. -
On one side of the ball. For sure. There are three phases to the game, and we sucked in two of the three. Hopefully all three phases can breakthrough past mediocrity.
-
Yeah, I'm ready to turn the page. My wish list, B. Donovan or G. Marshall. Either one of those two will most likely succeed at IU. At this very moment I would prefer Marshall but ask me in an hour after I put down a caucasian or two or three, Donovan would be my preference. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

(2018) QB Reese Taylor to IU
Lebowski replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Yeah, I would love to see this kid wearing an IU uniform. Keep him at the QB spot as well. He probably would fit in quite well with what Coach Allen is wanting to accomplish on the offensive side of the ball. -
The game changed after he went down. Am I wrong?

While watching the @NW game last night I heard the student section chant, 'Just like football.' That pretty much says it all.

Indiana @ Northwestern - Sunday 6:30 on BTN - Official Game Thread

Yeah the chant of 'Just like football.' from the student section last night pretty much shook my foundation.
