This site has the Hoosier playing in the Quick Lane Bowl in Detroit against Boston College. https://collegefootballnews.com/2019/11/bowl-projections-college-football-playoff-predictions-after-week-14 Personally, I'd like to see a IU v UK bowl game. What say you?

I'm cool with this extension. It appears both parties are happy and the way the contract is written it looks like CTA isn't looking at IU as a stepping stone. I truly believe IU has a coach that's committed for the long haul. If DeBoer is offered another gig he's earned it. Good for him and I thank him very much for putting in his blood sweat and tears for the Cream and Crimson. It'll just mean CTA will have to find another coach to replace him. That's how it works in this business. Good coaches are able to do this without issue. And hopefully coaches, like DeBoer, elsewhere are taking notice of the culture going on in Bloomington, Indiana.

A part of me also wants them playing in Florida for recruitment reasons. A lot of the players would really enjoy going back home playing in a bowl.

DeBoer is turning out to be a great hire that's for sure. DeBoer is getting paid. Something like 800k a year that could end up being $1 million per year with bonuses. I believe it's the highest paid OC in the history of the program. So hats off to Glass as well because he ponied up some cash. And I'd be fine if DeBoer goes on to pursue bigger and better things. He's earned it. It'll just mean that CTA will have to make another hire at OC. That's part of being successful at this kind of job. And with the precedent set I don't think money will be an issue. -

Maybe I'm naive but even if this year isn't a fluke and our beloved Hoosiers perform this type of season on a constant basis I still think he stays put. He seems to be all about Hoosier football and here to prove something. -

In my opinion CTA isn't going anywhere. It appears that he's all in with Hoosier football. I think the only job I could see him taking would be something like Notre Dame, and that ain't gonna happen. I honestly think he's home. Man, I sure hope I don't eat crow on this. -
From what I understand this is just a delay tactic of the inevitable. Because there's already several state and one federal legislation (google Mark Walker NCAA) bills in the works. What it will likely do for me is be able to purchase EA NCAA Football again! WOOOOOOOOO!

GAME THREAD: 10/26 3:30PM ET Indiana at Nebraska BTN

I love the future talk about our beloved Hoosiers! All of it is positive and a delight to be reading this morning. But Northwestern right now fellas. They'll need the support of their fans cheering them onward to victory at Memorial stadium this Saturday. We show up in the stadium and let them know just how much we appreciate what they've been doing then others (cough cough recruits) will take notice. Let's build something together. -

This crow doesn't taste too bad considering why I'm eating it. Job well done for our beloved Hoosiers! Now it's on to hosting Northwestern to compete for win number 7. -

Not that it matters but Nebraska is 4-3. -

I was thinking the same. Maybe. Hopefully our beloved Hoosiers can make some noise. As for the redshirt situation, I could be wrong here but I thought Penix got injured last year before hitting that 4 game threshold thus making it an easy decision to redshirt him? And prior to season start I recall him always harping on competing for a spot and how that was a good thing within the program. So I'm not so sure he's redshirting folks just to work them in slowly. -

Looks like the Cornhuskers are now favored. -

Yep. When I posted that Nebraska was at like 50.something and the Hoosiers were 49.something. Now that our Hoosiers beat the Terps things have changed. And I like it! Gonna be a tough road game. Hope they can pull it off. -

Okay folks, the week has come to see if our beloved and favored (unreal) Hoosiers can walk into Lincoln and stay the course. Truly hope Penix is able to play. He adds another dimension to the offense. -

You're correct. As far as rankings and poop like that. I said that because I think ESPN has the Cornhuskers as favorites at the moment. Albeit marginal and slightly favored. But the Hoosiers have to beat Maryland first. -

I hear ya. I hope the Hoosiers don't get overwhelmed of the atmosphere. If they don't and play solid football from top to bottom they have a really good shot at pulling the upset. But a lot has to go right for them. Regardless, that's next week. This week is Maryland. -

Yeah I've spent a lot of time in Lincoln for work. Make not mistake, they love their football like Btown loves their basketball. Maybe even more. While working in Lincoln, multiple times I've been asked to stick around a Saturday during football season. The game day bus system they've got setup to bring in the folks parked away from Memorial Stadium (parking is a bear) is down to a science. The fan base is the real deal. It's quite impressive. Nebraska folk don't mess around with their football and that's part of the reason I don't really have IU winning this game. But like I said earlier, I'll gladly eat crow. -

I saw a little bit of the Colorado game. And a little bit of the Northwestern game. Nebraska is on a bye week and has two weeks of prep to host IU in a packed house. That's a very big deal. The only like opponent the two teams have is OSU to where the scores were just about the same. Today, Nebraska's SOS is tougher than IU's, which might not mean anything in the grand scheme of things. In my opinion, this is going to be a very tough road game for the Hoosiers. They'll have a chance but I don't have them winning this game. I hope I'm wrong and I'll gladly eat crow for saying it. -

I'm counting a road game at Nebraska as a probable loss. Plus the Cornhuskers have an extra week to prepare for the Hoosiers. Not sure why folks have them on their list. My list of 2-3 teams that IU has a solid competitive chance at winning is Maryland, Northwestern and Purdue. -

Every year I torture myself with Hoosier football. And every year by mid-season I go into my find a corner and curl up into a ball mode. I think every year I say, "This is the year for 8 wins or better." But this year something changed. I went into the season a bit more realistic. My thoughts prior to the start of season was, likely won't make a bowl. Probable? Yes. Likely? No. I'm actually enjoying watching the games this year because my expectation are way low. I was pleasantly surprised with how close the MSU was. Sucked to see them lose but my expectations didn't really cause me to get upset about the loss. Currently, they already have 4 wins with 2 to 3 games to where they actually have a solid chance at competing for a win. The remainder of the games on the schedule I expect a loss and hope they'll be competitive, but not expecting they will. I hope it works out for CTA because I think if it does, he's gonna stick around (Because we all know IU football is a stepping stone for coaches, much like a MAC school.). And IU football needs stability for it to be a solid consistent competitor. Defining solid consistency for me is almost where the program is at. In the current structure of the Big Ten divisions getting 3 wins in the conference every year is consistent for a program like IU. -
https://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-depth-charts/depth-chart/indiana/90728 I'm sure this will change and get updated as needed. I would also imagine a lot of the younger guys will be fighting for 2 and 3 spots. And some of them actually getting a lot of playing time. Because we all know injuries happen. They're a young bunch. I hope CTA can get some quality wins and have them playing in December or January.

I thought that band was from Illinois?

Take it easy, man. I'm not trying to come off as a jerk. If I did, then I apologize. I completely understand coaches have their reasons for recruiting a kid over another. They get paid the big bucks to do that. Us spectators just sit back and speculate, usually over a beer or white russian.

According to his Hudl profile he runs a 4.5 40. Boone's 24/7 profile has him running a 05/05/2019 verified result 4.81 40. If those stats are correct/verified I would venture to say "speed" isn't the reason.
