I'm really proud of the team that played last night. They were put in a really tough position and played with grit and guts. Looking forward to see how this team responds in the next few games. -

Speaking from personal experience, good teams don't have coaches openly discussing having issues with other coaches. Bad teams do. And the really bad ones have coaches discussing their discontent with the players. The whole LEO mantra doesn't seem to be happening behind closed doors if indeed all of these rumors are happening. But I do agree with you and hear what you're saying about other programs. It's just the good teams handle it better. -

You might be on to something about Hart. I think the only RB he recruited that turned out was Scott. But I will say to be fair with all the other recruits, I don't think Barry Sanders himself would have been any good with they way the front 5 has been. An offense can't do poop without a front 5. It's the lifeblood. The heart and soul. The meat and potatoes. The... oh man, look at me rambling. -

I've played three years of football with coaches not liking other coaches. And open about it. It was a mess. Like I said, if this is true it's not good for IUFB. -

Potential B1G Division Elimination Format
Lebowski replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I would assume like the Big 12 or AAC is determined? I don't think it would be that difficult to figure out the two best teams in the conference. For example, the 2021 season conference championship would have been a rematch of OSU v UM. Which were indeed to the two best teams in the conference. No knock on Iowa but they were probably the 4th best team in the conference last year anyway. And with the fixed games I'm assuming a school like UM will have MSU and OSU on the schedule. Which will help determine the conf championships for sure. I think schools out of the West will now be forced to go through a gauntlet of a schedule like IUFB which will be awesome for the conference as a whole. I'm viewing this change as a good thing for the conference overall. And a really good thing for IUFB. -
Potential B1G Division Elimination Format
Lebowski replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
All of these schools below are opponents that are established, less travel time and/or with some IUFB history involved. The 3 fixed will more than likely be, Purdue, MSU and Illinois. All three games are rivalry games. ACC opponents that makes sense the first year is Louisville and Virginia. PAC12 opponents today Washington and whoever they want to put on the schedule. But at the end of the day just have ACC/PAC12 opponents in a rotating schedule. Regardless of the schedule, this is a really good idea and will help combat the recent SEC moves with OU and Texas joining their conference. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
Lebowski replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I was at the Castle game. I basically chalk up his TOs to a couple of things. First, Castle doesn't have a superstar but they have a solid all around scrappy team that causes havoc on D. Castle plays hard from start to finish and they typically cause a lot of TOs to their opponents. Castle also caused some matchup problems for HH. Second, he's young and it showed. He had spots of greatness but he also had spots of trying way too much when things just weren't there. (Things like trying to dribble through a double team, passing across the court where the player wasn't actually open, taking a shot when he was contested, etc. etc.) Here are my personal takeaways from what I saw. However, keep in mind though I only saw him play once. So he just might of had a "bad" game. (And a "bad" game to him was a double-double, 100% from the line, 2 assist and 1 block) Regardless, he'll get better and I have no doubt he will. Positives: Three ball is solid. (He has a nice step back.) Can make free throws Can rebound (has a knack of being where the ball is) He's a competitor. (He got frustrated a bit and upset with himself when not able to make some in the paint shots in the first half. He adjusted and played better in the second half.) Negatives: Trying to do too much at times (He'll learn how to handle a team like Castle as time goes on.) Defense isn't his strength (Might be because of his opponent. But he'll get better as time goes on. ) Difficulty banging with Castle's "bigs" (he missed a lot of in the paint shots but he's only a freshman in there battling with seniors and juniors) Ball handling and court vision needs improvement. (It's not bad it's just not good enough against a team like Castle's D.) The negatives might be more so about his opponent than anything. Like I said, I've only seen him play one time so take all this with a grain of salt. Hope this helps. -
Indiana vs Undue Purversity, Thursday, 7:00 pm
Lebowski replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah when I saw it I laughed at it. Apparently at Purdue, Big Ten Championships > National Championships. I was like, who's running the marketing department and how in the world did that pitch get past the brainstorming sessions? I can see it now during the pitch session. Start scene. In walks the pitch guy with a smile on his face. His grin makes everyone in the room start to glow. He starts to pitch.... "I got the best commercial idea for the game down in BTown! Let's hire a voice over guy and have him talk about our Big Ten Championships and while he's talking let's make sure we show us playing basketball. But make sure we show us playing basketball in Assembly Hall more than Mackey! That's really important! And then end it with fancy graphics that says, 'This is our state!'. But make sure the slogan is laying over the state of Indiana. Also, let's not forget, we got to make sure the music/sound is awesome too. Because you know, it's important to tug at the emotions of Hoosiers, I mean the people born, raised, and/or living in Indiana watching it. Because you know, the slogan and what not." Then after he's done pitching everyone in the marketing department stands up and gives him a thunderous applause. End scene. Youtube 'Pitch Meeting' and I think you get the picture. -

So that frees up $330k. CTA will have to find another guy to replace him, just like he did to replace Mark Hagen. Best of luck to Coach Peoples. Hope he succeeds and have positive memories while coaching at IUFB. -

IUFB Offseason/Transfer Portal News
Lebowski replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Throughout the entire history of IUFB I don't know of any OC that has accomplished a level of recruitment of what you asking Bell to do. I could be wrong though. I mean what QB has ever transferred into IUFB from schools you're talking about here? With the exception of Baylor and the current 4* transfer out of Incarnate Word, QBs that commit, transfer out or into those schools are typically 4-5* recruits. They commit to those schools with high expectations at a level us IUFB faithful have never experienced. Like Heisman thoughts and what not. Well, to be fair, we did experience a taste of it last season and the start of 2021. And maybe a brief stint in the late 80s. But not at a consistent level. I'm not sure where I said I was putting all my eggs in one basket with one position but whatever. I understand what you're saying about getting a desirable QB out of the portal but most of us are saying IUFB is what it is and looking at this whole process through a different perspective might be something of value. -

To piggyback off of this, looking at the current list of QBs available in the transfer portal, I'd be happy with any of them committing to IUFB. I mean, I'd prefer a high value proven transfer but I just don't think that's in the cards. And those on the current list can't do any worse than our current situation. For me it's about adding depth and if that OL doesn't improve it really doesn't matter who's starting QB. -

I wondered the same. So I punched him in the class calculator on 247 and according to it, it wouldn't have made any bump in rank but it would have jumped up the pts from 218.82 to 224.49. Food for thought: If you look at the rankings on both Rivals and 247 schools like LSU, Clemson, Oklahoma and Stanford are ranked below IUFB. So I'm thinking this current ranking will change because the recruiting process isn't finished and I'm sure IUFB will be moving around. Hopefully up and not down. Also, the transfer portal is a constant revolving door and that also changes a team's 'ranking' by the start of the season. But regardless it's a solid recruiting class nonetheless.

I mean, is that a bad thing? We're talking IUFB here. Also, it's fair to say you know as well as I do that we don't know how both McCulley and Tuttle will develop under Bell. I'm not holding my breath but I'm also not throwing in the towel. In my experience people react differently to a change. Especially at the leadership level. I'm going to sit back and see it all play out instead of bash the situation. But that's just me. -
Yet? They got until February and the transfer portal kind of changes everything. CTA also said that's a priority so we'll see.
