Playing for Coach Schiano is very attractive to student-athletes. He's got NFL experience and he's back home. They're going to be competitive. Bottom line, the Big Ten East is a beast of a division. I would argue it's the toughest division on the nation. But SEC folk would beg to differ, and rightfully so. I'm just a biased fool on the internet in the grand scheme of things.

2022 General Recruiting Thread (Football)
Lebowski replied to Leo's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
CTA has been on record saying a solid front 5 is vital to his vision/success on the offensive side of the ball. I think he said that during the Mike DeBord days. He might have changed that philosophy since but in my opinion it looks like he's focusing on positions needed to compete year after year. I could be wrong but it looks like he's of the school of thought that a solid front 5 and front 7 is the secret sauce to compete for wins. -

Do we know of any deals for any of our beloved Hoosiers yet? -
Bummer, man.

@eddy4iu and @Class of '66 Old Fart thanks for sharing. Is there something online that I can check out to see the differences between state's laws? I'm wondering how each state laws address it, what kind of impact it has, etc. etc.
-
Does anybody know if there's a thread already out there addressing NIL? I'm wondering what kind of impact this has on the state of Indiana? Because a lot of states have already passed laws addressing it.

Awesome to see for sure. But I'm more excited about articles like this one back in Dec. 2020. https://www.si.com/college/indiana/football/indiana-recruiting-numbers-dont-matter-player-development-does

(2022) Ryan Miller TE to INDIANA (3*)
Lebowski replied to IUc2016's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Welcome to IUFB Ryan Miller! #LEO I know this really doesn't mean a lot because they're just rankings but both Miller and Steinfeldt are/were Top 50 TE on 24/7. Obviously it's all about player development in the grand scheme of things. But still awesome to see nonetheless. -

Yeah, saw that. Agreed. Can never have enough front five. Hopefully our beloved Hoosiers kick butt this season and attract even more down hogs! -

It's nice to see the last couple of years IUFB landing 86+ rating OLs. To piggyback off of you here, I would like to see JUCO commits as well. Transfers are a plus too! The front five is vital to success in my opinion. I recall CTA mentioning in the past that he'd like to focus on OL recruiting. Can't remember when he said that but I was in total agreement with him. -
He's basically saying the road games are losses. I'll take the over please and thank you.

Supreme Court Favor Athletes in Narrow Ruling on NCAA Rules
Lebowski replied to HoosierHoopster's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That's cool kind sir. I guess I'm an old school fan and cheer for the organizations as a whole. Living in multiple cities during my lifetime I can tell you with certainty that I didn't/don't experience what you are. I've encountered more water cooler conversations on the team compared to a player's stats. The occasional no hitter, 5 TDs passing and triple double gets brought up, obviously. But more times than not it's conversation about where the team is going or how they played or what I experienced at the game, etc. etc. -
I kind of agree with Davison in that article. The locker room is sanctuary. It's too bad the whole team meeting was recorded and even worse someone released it to the press.

Supreme Court Favor Athletes in Narrow Ruling on NCAA Rules

Couldn't that be said for all sports at all levels? I mean I still wear my Pacers t-shirt that I bought back during the Reggie Miller days from time to time. -

Totally agree life is just different down there. Keep in mind though Kentucky and Ole Miss have banners. Gamecocks are above .500 all-time record. And Miss St. have been bowling 24 times with 14 wins. The reason I mentioned Vandy as an example is I think the best comparison IUFB can go by in the SEC is them. SEC football is stacked from top to bottom. I mean Missouri even has a pretty good football history. With the exception of a handful of years IUFB has been the doormat for all things football. But it appears to be changing. And I'm on that train enjoying the ride baby!
