I want IU to win, consistently and at a high level, but if the only way to accomplish that was the Duke-Kentucky, "sell your soul" model it wouldn't be very appealing. I'm glad 'Nova has at least proven a more traditional path is still successful. Kentucky has these kids on campus for what, 9-10 mos? Half the things in my freezer are older than that.

That seems like a good fit. He would flourish in Nova's system. If it's not IU I would prefer them over the other options.

I actually expect a starting line-up with: Fitzner, Morgan, Smith, Romeo and Green. How long he plays will likely depend more on his D then his offense, IMO.

Nebraska game was atrocious. Frost committed the worst clock management malpractice I've seen in a long time. Then they got their QB hurt and a DB committed a completely idiotic play that gifted CU a huge first down that led to the winning TD. Painful.

No, in Illinois, you had no choice but to look elsewhere! I guess my point was Duke has no real fan base, just a bunch of front-runners that like them because they've been successful. There isn't anything logical about being a sports fan, so maybe it's silly, but I look down on them. Just like the people in the Midwest that are die-hard Patriot fans (and have been since 2002!) ...... but couldn't find New England on a map. Nothing says you have to like a team that is geographically relevant to you, but c'mon, that is pathetic.

Yep- 90% of Duke's "fanbase" has zero connection to the school, they are just band-wagons chumps. At least the in-bred hilljacks in Kentucky live in the state and have been taught to be Big Blew hooligans since they were drinking bouron on their grand-pappy/uncle's knee. So if Duke falls off for a couple years their won't be the pressure to improve. Their fans will move on to the next shiny thing. With Kentucky (Alabama football too) the fanbase demands success regardless.

I went to Hammer & Rails expecting some lulz about the ridiculous expectations for the Univ of STD's. They are slobbering all over Edwards (one article declared him THE best shooting guard in the country last season), but the overall expectations are surprisingly realistic: Lots of unknowns, several players need to emerge, etc. I wonder if Edwards believes the hype? If so I can see them looking like Oklahoma last season with Trae Young = Lots of 1 on 5 hero ball.

That is silly, How good do they think Edwards is? PeeEww should have a solid starting 5....but they are unproven and not particularly dynamic. No experienced depth either. Painter is a competent coach, but he's no magician. I'll be amazed if they finish in the top 4 of the conference.
