IUFB vs #3 OSU -- 9/2/2023 at 3:30est on CBS
Hardwood83 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
You might not be wrong, but that is pants on the head retarded. His win % is .882. I almost hope O$U does fire him and then free falls. It would be delicious. They are an insufferable bunch of arrogant bung-holes and deserve some come-uppance. -

Another "IU Football proverb" IU is forbidden to have both a decent defense and a comptent/healthy QB at the same time. It shall always be so, for all time. -

It has become very apparent in this young FB season that Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders is gonna wear out his welcome very quickly. He's on every other commercial. Sheesh. -

He could have intercepted that, if he just found the ball, it was way inside.....sigh. -

FIFY. Competitive in all other facets, so far. -

It is always convenient to blame the refs, but they literally handed O$U 3 pts there and have been on their knees in front of an Ohio St for 25+ yrs. It's really tiresome. -

Big Ten is bought and paid for- OSU pulls that kinda stuff after every play and is lauded for their 'confidence' and IU does it and gets an unsportsmanlike? Total BS. O$U will NEVER be allowed to lose to the likes of lowly IU. -
(2022) - PF Kaleb Banks to Tulane

Hmm, interesting. Has IU played any zone under Woodson? I can't recall that. -
Throw in a cooler full of White Claw and I'll go in on it with you.

If you could choose one player to have a great (not good- great) season, who would it be? Who has the most influence on team success? I'm going with Trey. If he has a great year and everyone else is just solid- what they are supposed to be- then IU will be very good. So what is 'great' for Trey? I'd say about doubling last year's numbers. 32mpg, 48.5%FG, 45% 3pt (on higher volume) 75% FT 5.5 Reb, 3-1 Asst to TO & 13.5ppg all while playing above average defense. An argument can be made instead forJohnson, Mgbako & Ware for certain too. Who is your choice and why?

I'm hoping for Pat Ewing 2.0! Keep the beloved alum around way too long and burn it all down. L'ville sure has earned the suffering.

He did get to play 4 full seasons, so not too harsh, IMO. I will be glad when the COVID nonsense is over and we can focus on all the other issues destroying NCAABB :)

Big Ten is going to invite Oregon and Washington to join the league
Hardwood83 replied to iubb's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
True, but they were in the same time zone, at least most of the time for Arizona who is smart and doesn't do daylight savings time. Plus the West has a different culture than the Midwest and East. Like you said, no consideration was given to the athletes- or anyone else really. -

Already well on the way to being ruined. Many seem to think that it's inevitable, but why? It makes more money in the short term with no regard for the sustainability of the sports. If the schools on the West coast couldn't make a viable conference, how are USC and Rutgers in the same league gonna survive? Spoiler alert, they aren't. 'Super conferences' are stupid and will fail.

2024 (SF) Tyler Betsey to Cincinnati
Hardwood83 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That's not Tyler Betsey in that picture.... Is this the Tipton Edits equivilent of buying a picture frame and leaving the stock picture in it? If he picks IU does that impact McNeely? -
I like it, sure seems like he can help the SG position. Plus he can hand off the "Boogie" mantle to Fland next year!
-
That is interesting about Ole Miss, since I've heard/read that 'The Grove' is supposed to be super cool and the best tail-gating venue/experience in NCAA football. Not arguing with you, just hard to square Mississippi is comparable to Memphis! I equate the city of Memphis with Mogadishu, Somalia.

Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
Hardwood83 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Stopping in to say I was disappointed IU didn't get Ledlum, but I think it turned out for the best. Not that he couldn't/wouldn't help IU, but his skillset seems mostly redundant on the current roster. If he ends up at SJ gotta think something squirelly happened. -
IU Baseball

Any chance IU picks up anyone (cough* relief pitching* cough) from the portal? I appreciate the few of you that keep us informed about IU Baseball. -

(2023)/(2024) - (C) Somto Cyril to Kentucky
Hardwood83 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Hate to see positive things happen to Big Blew Nation. Cyril is a good looking player and will help them, whenever he shows up. It is amazing how 2 wks ago Kentucky was ready to forfeit their season and run Cal outta town on a rail....now they think they are NC contenders. No doubt Mitchell (WVU) and Reeves returning are a big help to them, but sheesh is their vocal fanbase off the rails. -
Correct, I don't like MJ nor his brand. I would prefer not to have an icon for another school on IU's jersey.
