I think your overall point has some merit, but what "other guards?" Gunn has looked awful and I don't think Leal has played yet in either game. IU really needed a transfer guard and losing Newton has left virtually 0 guard depth.

That may be true- even likely- but Ware & Reneau weren't letting the 5'10" Ginger kid (that got shut-out by STONEHILL?!) stroke 3's in their face all night. If X is the Captain then lead by example. He played poorly overall with defense, turn-overs and stagnant offense.

I am shocked that a judge didn't step in! The Michigan reaction is the epitome of childishness and certainly meaningless. I do have a sincere question though, how is this any different/worse than cheating in recruiting? Does Ohio St or any of the other usual suspects have any room to talk? Also is there any chance Alabama, LSU, Clemson aren't doing something similar to MIchigan (although maybe not as sloppy)? I have no love for Michigan, but am surprised at the outrage since I thought cheating was accepted as part of college sports now.

No matter who wins I think Arizona is better than Duke. In fact, take away Filipowski and Duke looks pretty pedestrian to me.

That isn't the worst outcome since Woodson & co have shown they have the ability to bring in some very talented players in the spring....but the volume for next year is a little more concerning. This year was 2 transfers and a late signer. Next year will likely need twice that, since bringing in 6, 7 or even 8 new players (including McNeely) might be required.

It's a fair question, but I would also ask "If it's IU, what's the hold-up?" Makes me think he's genuinely torn. Unfortunately, for us seems in most of those situations they choose the sentimental favorite instead of IU.

I'm not that young, but since I only know the 70's players by reputation, I'm going only on those I actually watched in college. So without giving it much thought the 5 best players (more or less by position) are: Isiah, Alford, Cheaney, Henderson, Zeller Garret So many studs that could be named, but one Honorable mention often overlooked due to his team's being average is AJ Guyton. Dude was freaking scoring machine.

I'm not too concerned about last night's performance. It was the first game with a lot of new pieces against a competent opponent. Glad it wasn't Cupcake U, since this showed what they need to work on, rather than a meaningless 30pt blow-out. To be generous the offense is a work in progress, but the components are there- although the 3pt shooting (both volume and accuracy) does worry me. I was more disappointed in the (lack of) defense. Still, Ware is gonna erase some mistakes and they're athletic enough to match up. I believe they'll be an above average defensive team eventually. They don't appear to be an elite level, but could be very good and surprise some people.

Queen should do what he thinks is best for himself, but if he has watched IU over the last couple of years and tonight and can't see that IU is a very favorable destination for big men.....not sure what else you can do.

I admittedly knew nothing about JMU before tonight, but you tell me MSU has a guy with +30pts and 6 steals, and JMU has multiple guys foul out? I'd say it's a 30pt loss for the Dukes.

MSU's Walker has quick hands. Typically rugged Izzo team it appears. If they find someone to hit 3's they'll be tough. Booker hasn't looked too interested when he's in.

So Kevin Willard has ALWAYS overachieved at Maryland....in his single season there? Woodson has ALWAYS underachieved in his TWO years at IU? C'mon Matt, that is pitiful even for Twitter level logic. I know very little about Derik Queen, but am comfortable saying this argument isn't moving the needle with him or anyone else. Do we know Queen is announcing & signing in the early period or is that conjecture?
