His point is, 'you get hit in football.' That wasn't even the 'dirtiest' play in that game. The fact it resulted in an injury doesn't mean it was automatically unacceptable. Why aren't you as concerned about Sanders attempt to poke the CSU player in the eyes? He could have permanently blinded him!! Your outrage seems unwarranted based on the circumstances.

Agreed, but he's a big personality and is the new shiny thing, it has been a compelling story so far.....I am calling my shot that his approach is not sustainable though. I'll call my shot and say: A) CU is gonna wilt under the constant spotlight, losing at least 4 games and B) Deion won't be at Colorado in 3yrs. I am not sure if he's a good coach or not, at Jackson St and so far at CU he's gotten by on superior talent. Good win at TCU, but struggled at times againsts overmatched NU & CSU at home, actually shoulda lost Sat.

SEC does look very pedestrian. That brings up a question, who looks like a really good/great team though? I haven't watched Michigan, USC, Penn State or Washington(!) yet. Georgia, Texas, FSU, OSU, ND....none of them look like #1 to me. I am SOOOOO ready for Bama to lose a couple more games and be out of the discussion. DO. NOT. LIKE.

Oh man, I would have to puncture my ear drums to keep from hearing that unbelievably annoying, gravely voice!!

I am not one that is advocating for him to be fired, but will answer any way. If IU makes a bowl this year he is completely off the hot seat and likely gives him a couple more years at very least. IU football expectations are very low. Now, do I think that is gonna happen? ..........

Trent Sisley is an Outstanding Hoosier and (2025) SG - to UConn Thread
Hardwood83 replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Defintely seems like a ND player under Brey. Hope not the new regime though, I'd love to see him as a Hoosier since he can shoot and I grew up in Greenfield. -
I just confirmed, per Indystar: If, for example, he were to be fired without cause following the 2023 season, Indiana University would still owe him more than $20 million. Beginning Dec. 1, 2024, IU’s duty falls to just 50% of that remaining income, a substantially smaller amount. Termination on that date, for example, would require the university to pay Allen a little under $8 million, and that number would fall under $6 million a year later. In other words, nothing is gonna happen until after 12/1/24.

Well, sure but I don't think the biggest issue with your proposition is with IU or even money. I can't imagine any scenario where Meyer returns to a job the level of IU. Can't hurt to make the call though.

Game Thread: IUFB vs. Louisville in Indianapolis 9/16/23 (12pm Eastern on BTN)

The IU offense is pretty discouraging, but in effort to be positive, the O line has improved a couple of levels. Granted it could not possibly have gotten any worse, but still. -

Not as fast as they are moving downfield. 2min scoring drives will keep the D fresh....ugh -

Yeah, he's not real imaginative, is he? -
I get the Prime Time schtick, but his kid is just coming off as an arrogant punk @$$. This is the 2nd week in a row he's called out the other teams coach. That's a bold strategy Cotton. Easy to talk before playing Colo St, but we'll see where he ends up in a couple weeks after playing Oregon & USC. Maybe he is all that, but I'm hoping to see him get smacked around. Hard.

I always underestimate Purdoo, so am not a reliable source, still it's hard not to see the recipe for success vs them is "make the guards beat you." They definitely have some players and might be better than last year- but they do not seem like a team built for NCAA success. As others pointed out, they also had a lot of benefits last season that are unlikely to repeat. Edey breaks his foot in Dec and they might be an 8 seed.

Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker accused of sexually harassing rape survivor

I have some suggestions for what you should do to whoever told you that. It involves a dull axe and a tree stump. As for Mich State athletics? Firing them into the sun is too generous. -
IUFB vs #3 OSU -- 9/2/2023 at 3:30est on CBS
Hardwood83 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
You might not be wrong, but that is pants on the head retarded. His win % is .882. I almost hope O$U does fire him and then free falls. It would be delicious. They are an insufferable bunch of arrogant bung-holes and deserve some come-uppance. -

Another "IU Football proverb" IU is forbidden to have both a decent defense and a comptent/healthy QB at the same time. It shall always be so, for all time. -

It has become very apparent in this young FB season that Deion 'Prime Time' Sanders is gonna wear out his welcome very quickly. He's on every other commercial. Sheesh. -

He could have intercepted that, if he just found the ball, it was way inside.....sigh. -

It is always convenient to blame the refs, but they literally handed O$U 3 pts there and have been on their knees in front of an Ohio St for 25+ yrs. It's really tiresome. -

Hardwood83 replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Big Ten is bought and paid for- OSU pulls that kinda stuff after every play and is lauded for their 'confidence' and IU does it and gets an unsportsmanlike? Total BS. O$U will NEVER be allowed to lose to the likes of lowly IU. -
(2022) - PF Kaleb Banks to Tulane

Hmm, interesting. Has IU played any zone under Woodson? I can't recall that. -
Throw in a cooler full of White Claw and I'll go in on it with you.

If you could choose one player to have a great (not good- great) season, who would it be? Who has the most influence on team success? I'm going with Trey. If he has a great year and everyone else is just solid- what they are supposed to be- then IU will be very good. So what is 'great' for Trey? I'd say about doubling last year's numbers. 32mpg, 48.5%FG, 45% 3pt (on higher volume) 75% FT 5.5 Reb, 3-1 Asst to TO & 13.5ppg all while playing above average defense. An argument can be made instead forJohnson, Mgbako & Ware for certain too. Who is your choice and why?
