You are correct, there should be a balanced conference schedule, but since an 18 team "conference" is stupid and unmanageable, that's impossible. Don't worry the brain trust at B1G HQ will solve the problem by adding 2-4 more teams any day now....

Of course, I'd love to have a solid offensive post option off the bench, but what is a necessity is a competent back-up big that won't get torched when your main guy is out of the game. If Hatton isn't that guy, then keep looking, but I'm not too finicky.

You are probably right, but there is a difference between choosing to play a line-up and having to because there is no other option on your roster. IU has a couple of slots open, it would be silly not to use one for a back-up center. Not sure you are argueing against that, I just want to see IU have a complete roster for the first time in forever and not have to count on everything going according to plan, because it never does.

I would guess that +90% of high level coaches are total arrogant @$$holes. Usually they have some level of discretion in public settings though. How does Deion think that tweet is gonna play? If you are a total d!ck no cares if you are right. I put the chances of his schtick having any staying power (at CU or anywhere else) at exactly 0. I doubt he wins enough to last long, but even if he does, people will get tired of the 'look at me' routine ALL the time.

Sure, most will agree with you, but still need a post for defense. Going into next season without a back-up center would be worse than going into this past season without a back-up SG.

Malone is intriguing to me since he is such a change of pace from Ballo. But I would be content with a fairly generic 6'9"-6'11" guy that is a competent defender that can rebound a little and dunk if the opportunity arises in 12-15mpg. I'm not expecting anyone to compete with Ballo for the starting job, just hold down the fort and don't get torched when he's in the game.

I think the best part of the "Goode to IU" possibility is that really stacks up the perimieter players. Then with only Reneau, Ballo and a reserve post player TBD on the roster it's gonna make it much harder to clog the lane! That should make about 98% of this board happy.

Ha, wouldn't that be a hilarious plot twist! Get a back-up C in Furst, back-up wing shooter Goode all while sticking it to Purdoo, Illinois and Notre Dame!? Sign me up! Seriously doubt that happens, but I agree with you that Furst would be a great fit.

If IU doesn't get him then hopefully that is what happens. Although I did read Furst is pre-med and the thought was it was unlikely he'd transfer. Who knows?
