Crean and IU were indeed close that year. His strength certainly wasn’t coaching against zones but the Syracuse game has been mischaracterized as essentially a gimme game only lost because of Crean. -

4-4 or 3-5 Maybe 5-3. No way 1-7 is generous. -

Apparently it is easier to find shooters in Japan than Indiana. -

Sadly, if you were the opposing coach which of our guards would you focus on around the perimeter? None of them ? -

Correction…. I just realized it was the tacos I ate tonight that I am feeling. -

I’m guessing he has played his way into the doghouse and with X back he might be in there for a long time (at least until the portal). -

Way, way too sloppy with passes,, block outs and rotations. Sure wish Trey was consistent on the offensive end but at this point “he is what he is”. Really threw up some bricks this half. Mast should have 7 fouls as he hits Wares arms on every shot. Sort of lucky to be only down 8 Hopefully we are able to tighten things up in the first 5 minutes of the half. -

He has had a couple shots in which he was fouled three times. -

We are sloppy but man that second foul call on MM…… The ref right on top of the play doesn’t call anything, even though it should have been called offensive, but the ref 40 feet behind calls it? Really bad. How many times have we thrown a tough pass to a covered big man running in transition. That’s just not a good idea. -

Don’t know how healthy Ware, MM and X are but going with a perhaps irrational: Hoosiers - 76 Huskers - 71 -
I’m in the camp that is surprised that Cig said no thanks to his return as we really need DB’s. I think there is a 90% chance that Cig told him there was no room for him but think there is a 10% chance he received an attractive ($$) last minute offer. Regardless of what happened…looking forward to some DB additions.

No wonder. Since he was our starter I assumed he was on scholarship (and should have been).
-
From being our starting kicker to going to UCONN?!? What was the draw? Did he think he was going to lose his job to Radicic? Does UCONN have NIL cash for a kicker?
-
I’m old enough to remember way back when he was a good coach.

Without question NIL has added a ton of fuel to the “not playing in a bowl” fire. It used to be a few first rounders that wanted to avoid getting hurt but now you have a lot of guys that have entered the portal, who will never sniff the NFL, but don’t want to blow a potential 100k etc NIL deal at their future school. Hard to believe but it was the recent 2017 bowl season when future top 10 picks McCAffrey and Fournette “scandalously” skipped their bowl games and some thought they might drop in the draft for deserting their teams etc. Mind blowing how it’s gone from a couple of guys to FSU alone having 20 guys bail today. Going forward how many alumni (unless it’s a bowl starved school like IU) will fly to a bowl game, and pay for air/hotel/car/food/booze/tickets, to watch their second string play another teams back-ups. I’m sure there are some pissed FSU alums tonight. The ratings will be interesting to see this year as TV is the only thing that could possibly keep this many bowls (there are way too many in my opinion) going.
-
I’ve barely watched any of the bowl games this year as players opting out (and 5-7/6-6 teams in bowls) has really diminished my interest. Florida State has 20 players opting out of today’s game which makes the matchup vs. Georgia pretty worthless. Looking forward, however, to the 3 playoff games.

Thanks, UGH, I just saw that tonight’s game is on BTN+. I’m already paying for BTN (I’m not in a state in which it’s included) and Peacock. No mas -
Sorry for your confusion but it is really not that hard to figure out as it’s kind of a nice indicator when other P5 schools/coaches (South Carolina and Utah) recognize talent vs the “hidden gems” that only a single P5 coach in the country pursues. Do some of those MAC only, or less, offer guys work out? Of course they do, as there are literally thousands of recruits each year, but the odds are higher, but not a guarantee, that dudes recognized to be P5 talent by multiple P5 coaches have a better chance of working out (or maybe it’s just a coincidence that OSU/UM/PSU dominate the BT with ranked guys every year LOL)
