I would prefer: 1) ND 2) TX 3) OSU In any case, we were picked to finish 17th in the BT and are going to the playoffs!! Mind blown!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Bama vs SMU. Who should get in the playoff ? HELLO, the NCAA only has ONE mandate and that mandate is $$$$$$$$$. They have an insatiable desire for more $$$$$$$$$$ and the Bama/brand name/SEC TV ratings/matchups are why Bama will get in instead of SMU. It’s really not that hard to figure out.
-
These a-holes always conveniently neglect to mention the Alabama losses. They lost to Vandy and Oklahoma which is like losing to Washington and Nebraska. Why the F isn’t that brought up? If Bama was wearing an IU jersey, with the same results, they would be in the “others getting votes” category.
-
I’m not celebrating an IU mid-major win. I’m not saying Woody is the guy. My only point is that we would not be happy with a 2 point win against Iowa at home. That’s IT. That’s the only point I was making.
-
Maybe not celebrating but your own quote seems pretty close to that “Michigan 2-0 in conference now. So glad we bought a team instead of getting dusty!” Again, and this seems to be a difficult concept to understand, but I’m NOT defending Woody but rather stating that we would not be happy with a 2 point home win against Iowa. Not sure why that is debatable/controversial.
-
So you are saying my first SIX sentences stating “not a defense of Woody” and “I prefer Dusty over Woody” weren’t clear enough???? LOL And PS…I agree we should have pulled the trigger at the end of last season.
-
I get that but, to my point, would you celebrate a 2 point win vs Iowa at home?
-
Not that this makes it right but…… In many games, especially against “name brand” teams, we complain about missed holds/missed PI’s etc, but to be fair those missed calls seem to be common in every game I’ve watched today.
-
All I am sure about is that I think the NCAA BLOWS but kudos to them for going to a twelve game playoff. The playoffs haven’t even started and I have paid attention to at least a dozen games, because of the expanded playoff, that I wouldn’t have watched in the past. Let go Hoosiers. No teams look invincible. I hope we kick some @$$!!!!

This is not a defense of Woody This is not a defense of Woody This is not a defense of Woody I would prefer Dusty over Woody I would prefer Dusty over Woody I would prefer Dusty over WoodyI but…..UM beat Iowa at home by 2 and Dusty is being “crowned”. If IU won by two at home against Iowa the panic button would be worn out.

To this point in the game neither Texas or Georgia are blowing me away.

I don’t want to go to GA but going back to OSU wouldn’t be a party either. Is there a path to us playing at ND ?

That is the medical policy. I remember a few years ago when Coach K famously put in Joey Baker for a few minutes in the 24th or so game of the year and it completely burned the kids year of eligibility. In the post game presser Coach K acted as though he didn’t know the rule.
-
Have they changed the eligibility rule (I don’t know) ? Prior to this basketball season a football player could play in as many as 4 games (1/3 of the season) and maintain their eligibility but for some reason basketball players burned their redshirt year by playing in a single game. I hope that still the case as it would be chaos to see hundreds of mid-season transfers.

Chris has stated he knows her and that she is involved in the university (I.e. she is not some dude making stuff up in his basement). Her comments, or Chris’s, in regards to the Woody situation shouldn’t be taken as literally as 1+1=2. The information in any big organization has “nuance” in that people (BOT-donors, etc) open up to some people while not being transparent to others, three people can overhear something and come to three different conclusions, BOT/management might have different opinions, etc etc.., etc. I enjoy reading the commentary , don’t consider it “gospel” and realize that probably only 2-3 people really know what is going on ( it might just be the pres and Dolson-hopefully they are counting the days until QB is defanged) but I like reading her perspective (and Chris’s) as additions to the posts with the repetitive valid multiple reasons to fire Woody. The good news is that I can’t see this going on beyond this season. I’m not sure what is worse, getting blown out or winning in the least inspirational way possible, but both suck.

IUBB vs Miami (OH) - Friday, 12.06.24 @ 7:00 on BTN

On TV the building sounds dead. Up three at the half…..not optimal. -
I have a dream. That dream is for IU to open against a SEC team and beat them. I’m sick of their “we are by far the greatest” BS when arguably their best team needed 8 overtime’s to beat a mediocre ACC team at home, on senior day.

That is crazy that Stubhub has BT Conference Championship tickets available for only $12.:With Stubhub fees that’s probably a reasonable $78.

To be honest I thought they over passed in that possession.I liked the movement for a while but they passed up at least 2-3 good shots. Will that many opportunities be available against better competition?
-
I’m just glad we are safely in. No way we fall out of the playoff with our current position ranked 9th with a 10 seed. As far as Alabama…what a joke. If that exact same team wore IU jerseys with three losses, 2 of them against mediocre/terrible teams with one of the losses only two weeks ago, they would be lucky to be ranked in the 20-25 range. Oh well, we are in and they are in jeopardy if Clemson wins the ACC.

IUBB vs Sam Houston - Tuesday, 12.03.24 @ 7:30 on BTN

Agree with a lot except Gallo being locked-in and that he should get more minutes. Before the season I thought he would be a virtual shoo-in for BT 6th man of the year but don’t think he has looked all that good the last 4 games or so. I realize he does a lot of glue guy, doesn’t show up in the box score stuff, but tonight he played 19 minutes with 2 points, 1 rebound, 4 turnovers and zero assists. -

He might be. It’s a very small sample size but he looks like a physical, impose his will, type of guy with an edge we need. -

Can he ever. Feel bad for Newton (and us) that he has endured so many injuries as he is obviously a tough, very athletic dude. -

Several times Leal has grabbed a board and started a quick transition possession with just a few dribbles followed by a really nice fairly long pass. That transition is much better than sleep walking up the court.
