I’d love it if after tomorrow there are zero SEC teams in the semis. “Mighty Georgia” losing would be great while Texas losing to a so-so AZ State team would be absolutely priceless.

Why? They should be assistants because they played at IU? I don’t have anything against Fife but how many programs are knocking on Fife’s door? I think the answer is equal to the number of other teams that wanted Woody as a head coach which is zero. We have had good football assistants get gobbled up by premier programs but no one has thrown a bag at Fife yet for some reason we should bring him back because…….??? He played at IU ? Perhaps Hulls and Calbert are great assistants (I have no idea) but those hires should 100% be made by the new coach rather than having assistants imposed on him.If the new hire wants Hulls and/or Calbert I think that would be FANTASTIC (if they are in fact good assistants) but it should solely be up to the new coach. PS…..I agree with Jersey in that I feel bad for Hulls cutting his playing career short in order to wade into this mess.

I don’t remember ever rooting for Michigan so hard. I’m a DeBoer fan but that is overwhelmed by how sick I am of the SEC narrative. Hope they blow Bama out.

Agreed. After three years playing for Underwood, and the way the Illini play hard, Goode has to be thinking WTF is going on here. He often has a “let’s get going” attitude but sadly is often the Lone Ranger when it comes to that.

In Woodys defense… People have been clamoring for us to shoot more threes, and the press has asked him about our lack of attempts from the three, but no one has been telling him we need to MAKE more threes.

2024 Rourke was, of course, a portal guy. 2023 Mccloud was his QB and SunBelt player of the year. The previous year he was at Arizona and JMU was his third school. 2022 Centio was his QB and the SunBelt player of the year. The previous year he was at Colorado State and JMU was his third school. 2021 starter had been at JMU 4 or 5 years and then started 2019 starter was a transfer from Pitt. 2019 was Cig’s first year at JMU.

I think he needs to go, was a bad choice etc I do think, however, that Dolson’s original setup was a horrible idea. You don’t hire a head coach with the caveat that he has to accept a specific assistant coach and a special advisor not hired/chosen by the head coach. It obviously shows that Dolson knew Woodson wasn’t prepared to be a college coach but regardless of the coach that setup was a terrible, terrible idea.
