MSU winless in conference and in a dogfight with Illinois. What the hell happened to them in one year?

Oakes just made the ESPN top 10 for tonight.

Have the ball on the 44. Are we in field goal range in 43 yards? On a positive note the D has made a lot of 3rd down stops.

Great punt but at the beginning of the year who thought we would have to punt from the 35 with Oakes.

I agree but on the other hand it is hard to imagine the kicking game being worse.

They are really bad. If we win there is a good chance Rutgers will not win a conference game.

Just the two extra points and missed 19 yarder would put us up seven

I will take credit for the Redding run :)

I feel bad for Oakes but this is unreal (even for us). The good news is that Rutgers is so bad we can still win this.
  10. I just saw MSU lost to Maryland today and is now 0-4 in the BT. WTF happeneded to them this year?
  11. I agree with the issues you bring up but the bottom line is "we have what we have" and the coaches obviously have little faith in the back-ups. I will not be surprised if we see Zander or someone else next week but the staff is obviously not excited with the alternatives. Before the season I posted that Lagow was the most important component of our success this year, and said nothing else was remotely close, and unfortunately it looks as though I was correct. (On the flip-side I also incorrectly stated that I doubted the defense would improve....Glad to say I was wrong in regards to the D).
  12. We can win 2 out of the next three ( Maryland, Rutgers, PSU) and then beat PU to get to a bowl. I do think that is possible but it is equally possible we only win one more. Next week is big, to get to some sort of bowl, and it is good that we get MD at home.
  13. That does not matter. We will still be reading the "8 or 9 win" quotes and the indignation when national publications disagree. Happens every year.
  14. Good news is that the defense played better in the second half and we are now only 290 days from reading the forum posts predicting "this will be the year" we win 8 or 9 games.
  15. Not a fair comparison because he hits the defensive players in stride but our receivers have to jump or come back to the ball.
  16. Apparently the key is to do it over and over and over ...no matter what.
  17. Did they mention the status of Feeney today?

After being ranked 8th by the AP MSU has now lost 4 in a row with 3 of those being at home. They have to be reeling in East Lansing after giving up 54 to Northwestern today. Be interesting to see how good Wiscy is tonight.
  19. I posted how often he missed receivers, whom were visibly frustrated, when I saw him in spring practice. Had hoped he would be in sync by now but it looks as though his lack of consistency will remain an issue all year. We would be a one loss team with Suds but........
  20. Northwestern laying 54 on MSU, at MSU.

Hell, he "protected" Lagow with the play calling nearly to the degree that he had to protect Zander last year,

It had been a while since Lagow completed a pass downfield.

Call me crazy but at what point do you try to throw downfield
