Game Thread : Minnesota @ Indiana | 7:30EST on FS1

Great to see that the D and turnover ratio continues to improve. Greens growth is huge for the team. He is finally realizing he is not on the Harlem Globetrotters. Hopefully Smith gained some confidence tonight. Also....good to see the guys are "buying-in". It concerned me early in the season but Archie clearly seems to be leading them now. -

Moore for 2. He should be getting 39 minutes a game. -

Ha. Agreed. Never, EVER, thought I would prefer Bardo over anyone but these guys have proved me wrong. One guy is boring as hell and Marshall incorrectly thinks he is a stand-up comedian. -

Gus Johnson - This is the Carnegie Hall of Basketball Marshall, when asked what he thinks about the Hall. - "I don't like the striped pants". I hope that d-bag never gets near Bloomington again. -

Agreed. Playing much more under control (as I type this he has a TO :) ). His improved play has allowed Archie to show Josh the pine. -

I have never begged for him to get minutes nor do I dislike him but rather thought there had to be a reason that Archie was not giving him minutes. We obviously need additional length underneath but yet Archie kept him on the pine....there is a reason, he is not ready. -
Greyson Allen should have gone pro last year. His stock has to be dropping this year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Archie does not seem to be a fan of the Priller side show.
-
I agree. Green playing more under control has made it easier for Archie to sit Josh.
-
Good win. Realize it was only Rutgers but it was on the road and I was worried we would come out flat after MSU. Good to see the D and improved play of Green. Think some of the "why doesn't Moore get more minutes" questions were answered.
-
Green doing some good things, including his D, tonight. You can see the talent he just needs to learn to be more consistent and keep things under control.

I feel bad for Hartman. He is moving like a 60 year old with bad wheels.
-
His lack of offense is noticible because he totally bricks a number of wide open outside shots. They are not "shooter misses" but rather bricks. This is not a slam because I think he might be able to develop (unlike Priller, Galon, April etc etc), but so far he has not shown he can hit wide open shots. Has nothing to do with not having a "second stud" etc., he just plain bricks open shots. He only a freshman, seems to really love IU, and appears to be a good kid. Hope he develops into a great 4 year player .

Man it's slow in here tonight!

The killer is that during the Purdue game my wife asked who was the little guy trying to guard Haas? It was Freddie!! I told her he is built like a NFL tight end but she correctly said he looked like a little guy next to Haas, -

I just hope Morgan does not take the "I am going pro no matter what" route. Think it would be in his best interest to test the waters, see what the NBA tells him and then decide. If they tell him he can make some $$$ I would say congratulations and go for it. Seems like a really great kid. Wish him the best (but hope he is back next year :) ). -
Some will lose their minds while others have slid to a "I would rather have a 4 year player than a one and done" sentiment. I am in the we need him camp because... We need IU to be the destination for top in-state talent. Elite programs get elite players. We need a guard and we need a shooter. The program needs, BIG TIME, an injection of hope and excitement. Romeo will bring both. Write down prospective starting line-ups for next year....They all look a lot better with Romeo.

Rather than "cooked his own goose" my guess is that he just has not shown he is ready in practice. Archie needs another big in these games but does not play him and that has to be because of skill...not because Archie thinks he is going to leave. I do not follow the "Moore should play more sentiment". Why? If Archie does not play him "just because" that is a very poor reflection on Archie.
-
Huge that Morgan only picked up one foul. I was worried he would have 2 in the first 5 minutes. Great first half. I am on edge every single time Green touches the ball.

MSU needs to hire the UNC lawyers. If they do the NCAA will apologize for inconveniencing them. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

IU at Illinois Game Thread (1/24 - 9pm - BTN)

You do not see the big picture. Crean obviously realized he had a talented stretch 4 in Priller and knew he needed a bruiser to clean up things underneath. -

Agreed. It is good to see that a player does not get yanked after two good plays in a row. That was one of the many things that drove me nuts with Crean. A few games ago I remember thinking how refreshing it was that Archie kept a lineup on the floor that was rolling for an extended time. What a concept!! -

I agree with you about Crean but....... The original statement had nothing to do with Crean but rather stated that NO OTHER coach would have a better record at this point. It was that statement that I disagreed with...had nothing to do with Crean.
