    I don't think he will extend him but my gut tells me on selection sunday he will release a statement talking about injures and how we lost seniors from the previous team. 2017-18 will determine his fate and with the projected roster I don't see him surviving. To make things worse for Crean by 2018 his buyout drops from 4 million to 1 million which makes him in my opinion a "lame duck" coach.

    The Kevin Wilson situation was the first thing that came to mind when hearing about Frank Martin being mentioned to replace Crean.

    Why is Frank Martin being mentioned as a potential replacement? Is IU talking to him? I just don't see that happening or working out.

    I know it's early but knowing Glass he will likely give his yearly "vote of confidence" to save Crean and the conversation to replace him should be started.

    According to Dan Dakich a 30 for 30 is in the works about Bob Knight. Should be interesting to say the least.

    I also find it hard to believe it is Gavitt tip off game because of the 2K Sports classic which is around the same time.

    To me that makes sense for both programs as UConn needs this for SOS because of their weak conference schedule. For Indiana it gives us a quality opponent while it also gives the B10 the "East Coast" exposure that Jim Delany and Fred Glass want.

    I wish it was Kentucky but we all know that will never happen. While this is a vague guess I would think it would have to be a top 25 program that needs this game to boost their strength of schedule as much as we do (Ex: SMU in 2014).

    Saw story on Indy Star about Fred Glass saying IU will add a "Marquee" home game in 2017 non-conference but would not say who cause it was too early in process and details are still being finalized. Any guesses?

    If we get Stevens could he potentially snag Maker or Alkins in 2016 with his NBA coaching experience? Both are spring decisions which is about the same time Stevens would be getting on the recruiting scene again.

    Tom Crean has always said he is the player that left one of the biggest gaps in maturity when leaving. Crean went on to say he connected leadership and youth playing the middle guy we lack now. Just get Hulls hired and that would be the icing on the cake.

    I agree completely both were streaky shooters. Their free throw shooting and overall style of play are also similar in nature.

    What makes the addition all the more important is the extra year. With him sitting out a year he will have plenty of time to heal his knee and improve his jumpshot. Yogi Ferrell will take him under his wing and tutor him on getting others involved and etc. He never will be Yogi but he is the suitable replacement people have been asking for.
