I feel the same way but only if he really wins. Not barely making the tournament and getting our butts kicked in the round of 32.

I hope he stays at ISU. We may not hire him (after next season), but if he goes to SLU I think it's a lot less likely that he'd be available after just one year. Money talks, but I think it would be easier to leave ISU after flirting with it this year as opposed to moving to a completely new location (SLU) then turning around and moving again to another (Bloomington).

I give you credit for hanging on to that hope. But h*ll, by the time they get around to it (which I don't think will happen...my hope tank is empty lol), we will have missed out on several great candidates.

I'm also seeing rumors that Schertz might be headed to Louisville. If he winds up at Louisville, right in our backyard, and May is of course at Michigan, and we roll out a big fat turd of a season next year, I have no words....

The UL search is very interesting and worth watching because we very well be in a similar situation next year if Woodson bombs in the portal and/or can't figure out how to put the pieces correctly until it's too late, like this year. Obviously May won't be coming. Shrewsberry will probably be turning the corner with ND, would he want to leave and start all over...again? Schertz most likely will have just finished year one somewhere new, so don't see him leaving. I'm sure there are other young coaches I'm not even aware of, but I don't know of any that excite me like those 3. Then there are the older established guys. I personally don't like that route just because I'd prefer to have somebody in place for 10+ years, but beggars can't be choosers, right? Pearl will be another year older. Cal if he doesn't get fired this year and UK finally collapses? Are we going to end up having to go with someone like Michael Lewis because he'd actually be interested in the job?

This 100%. I’ve rarely posted, but have been here for 9 years or so. IU wise it’s been a difficult decade, but I’ve gotten so much joy and comfort coming here to read others echoing my feelings over that time. I would have lost my mind during basketball season without BTB. Thank you to all of you guys who make BTB possible. You are greatly appreciated.

I’m not sure who Mile Woodson is but if he’s anything like Mike then yes fire him too :-)!

I’d still be interested in resetting with a successful mid major if that was the only alternative to Woodson. Gotta keep swinging if you want to hit a home run.
