To be honest. I think he would be a better fit elsewhere and would like him to resign. End it on a mutual agreement... But since I doubt he's capable of that, then I have to want him fired. So it sucks I have to want someone to be fired at their job.

Just out of curiosity, what other schools currently want their head coach gone as bad as IU fans do right now? A follow up question, out of all the other schools looking to fire the HC, what are their message boards like? 395 pages and 8,000 comments? Why does the media sugar coat "the fans COULD turn on him". smh.

What a great fit for Crean. He can consistently find underdeveloped/ under-recruited stars in the 150+ range while occasionally landing a 4*. He can build a team every 2-3 years that can make it to the sweet 16. He doesn't have to worry about being an XO savant. He will upset a high ranked seed at least once a year. And he could get away with scheduling 8+ cupcakes a year! Plus when he has a disastrous down year to follow a S16 run, they won't call for his head. I can't think of a better fit.

He needs to clap himself onto the next SpaceX rocket and we can FIRE him into space.

Also: from a fashion standpoint. What the **** is Crean wearing... a grey/blue gingham large check shirt with a black suit, horrible belt, and slide ons. 3+ mil a year. Hire a stylist buddy. Your image is terrible. Perception is reality and your image gives off the perception that you are an Idoit... Oh wait.

At least then the school would set a precedent that we don't like getting embarrassed on national T.V.

I think that he just has tremendous guilt for putting Crean on blast during his first two weeks on the job. So because he feels bad, Doyal talks Crean up as a way to "apologize"...

I think if Billy does leave the NBA, it will be to replace Rick Pitino at Louisville. For that reason I think he stays in the NBA until Pitino retires.

I bet he would publicly never say a bad word against Crean. But privately, I'd like to hear what he has to say about him.

It was like watching a different sport.... Off ball screens, setting actual picks, allowing players to shoot 2s, good in-bound plays, calling time outs to make strategic substitutions, playing your 5 best players, setting up plays so that certain players get their shot so that they build confidence. The list goes on. Maybe the biggest take away is that Stevens doesn't complain about his roster and doesn't make excuse after excuse. He simply works with what he has and produces....Crean on the other hand makes excuse after excuse after excuse: we're young, we're hurt, we lost our center last year unexpectedly, we didn't start out focused, so and so was sick. The excuse mentality Crean has is terrible and I hate it.

When what happens? Creans extension?

Maybe I just don't understand how the entire coach-hiring process works, but waiting and trying to time the perfect hire seems like a bad idea IMO... How do we know that certain coaches would come to IU? Is it through back channels? Have agents of coaches reached out to IU already? Why not just fire Crean at the end of this year and go full throttle towards the coach you want (Stevens), just like Michigan did with Harbaugh. If that doesn't work, at least every college/NBA coach knows about the head coach opening and IU can be completely transparent on the fact that we are taking resumes.

Has Tom Crean been preaching position-less basketball, or ROLE-less basketball. Can that explain why it looks like Bryant doesn't know what position he is supposed to be playing, and why It looks like Rob Johnson doesn't know his own role on the team (same with Newkirk)... At what point do you realize this strategy doesn't work. Our players need roles... Please fire this man.

At least Mike Davis knew who his 5 best players were.

Crean cannot be defended. Poor line-ups. Poor substitutions. Poor attitude. Poor preparation.

I wonder how much of it is attributable to Nebraska's tough non-con schedule.

I think you're being generous on his recruiting. Historically he's probably been a 7.5 out of 10, but if you looked at his recruiting as of today, the miss on Wilkes and not being able to recruit any top talent from Indiana since Blackmon, makes me think his recruiting ability is closer to a 4/5 out of 10.

So many things Crean has done wrong. Time for him to go.

Do you think getting rid of the "everyone gets a trophy" class basketball in Indiana would improve the aura?

Is this an indicator of a bigger issue with where the IUBB program is, or am I just looking too deep into it?

Can the travel on Byrant, and falling asleep on the in-bounds pass at the end of the game be blamed on Crean's lack of discipline? Or are those both just mistakes any freshman would make? ...
