Hollowell recently. But the threesome of Patterson, Miller and Reid came in highly ranked and they all stunk. Really, thats when the wheels started falling off the program. -

Delray was pretty good in high school and in college just not under Knight. Made it to a final four. -

Yep, the night before Thanksgiving. I still remember sitting at a bar with a couple of buddies watching that one. -

Yea, that guy was a natural. Made it look so easy. -
Yea, I root for the guy. He obviously wasn't ready for that job. I blame the administration for totally mishandling the whole deal. The timing was horrible. No chance to hire a quality coach. And 14 years later here we are....

Starting 5 after exhibition games?
Alford Bailey replied to zacharyiu97's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Man, I forgot all about Ewing Jr. -
LOL, I agree about the Purdue fans. Anyway here on the Ohio line we have the typical Indiana UK fans and a large contingent of Ohio St fans who are about as bad.

Potential coaching change suggestions
Alford Bailey replied to Bryan Medema's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sure, I still have that bad taste in my mouth but I'm willing to get over it. I think Marquette fans would be pretty bummed if we stole Wojo vs. thowing a party when Crean left. -

You may be right. He hasn't won a game yet I just have that gut feeling Wojo will be a great one. I think if IU landed him the 5* Indiana kids would be checking to see if there were any open roster spots in Btown before visiting anywhere else. -

Potential coaching change suggestions
Alford Bailey replied to Bryan Medema's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I will add a name that I haven't seen yet but I have a gut feeling we are gonna hear alot about in the next couple years and that is Wojo. The guy recruited at a high level for Coach K and is doing the same at Marquette. I think he will be ready to move on to bigger and better things in a year or two. Many years under an all time great and he is a "young" guy I would take a chance at. Anyway I think IU will have many good candidates when the job comes open. -
Great stats for the last 3 years
Alford Bailey replied to bleedhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If only we weren't constantly near the bottom in turnover rate during the Crean era these numbers could of amounted to much much more success. We shoot ourselves in the foot giving less talented offensive teams easy looks off stupid turnovers. -

This year for Yogi, what will it change?
Alford Bailey replied to SWEETLEMONbrown's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I expect Yogi to challenge for conference POY. Less pressure to score but will still be a huge part of the offense. He is as good as any PG in the country. -
If things were stable in the program I would say 2 years. With the current turmoil in the program I'd say if he CAN move on to the next level he will after this season. If the kid would stay four years he would be one of the all time greats. He's that good.

The little guys still have a voice to a certain extent. I'm 3 hours away and usually go to a game or two. We decided not to this year. Yea, its just a few seats in the balcony but if others do the same it starts to add up. -

I'm perfectly fine with anyone who likes Crean. Thats an opinion and thats great. Just don't attack me personally for wanting him gone Which is what I dealt with regularly. You can be respectful and still disagree which is how I try to be. -

When the fans start voicing their opinions with the pocketbook that can get pretty powerful, quick. -

Alford Bailey replied to sshoosier12's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well, I'm new here too and still trying to figure it out but it appears you can have a negative opinion on Crean here which is no longer allowed on ITH. Anyway, yea I voiced my displeasure with the constant oversigning and always took alot of heat for it. -

I fall somewhere in the middle on this one. I don't think we get Stevens though I would love to have him. I also don't think Crean is the best we can land and we should keep him around for that reason. This program can still land a top flight coach. Just have to make the investment. Not ready to throw out any names just yet. -
Its my opinion right now that Stan and Troy ride the pine. I'm gonna eat alot of crow here and say give Stans minutes to Nick.
