I agree. I can live through some short term pain to get the long term benefit of a new coach.

Thats a good point. Even 2012-13 team had issues switching defenses. Usually give up a wide open 3 when we switched to zone. -

Does a deflection really matter if we still give up a wide open 3 or an easy layup? -

Heres the thing that should have all of us fans worried. By all accounts we are pretty bad right now. Looking back over the previous 6 years of the Crean era, good team or bad, when have we seen marked improvement by a team over the course of a season? I would argue we haven't. Some have said in the past the 2011-12 team but I would say they were as good at the beginning (beating UK) as they were at the end. A few of those team actually got worse(including last years team) over the course of a season. We have no history to tell us this team is going to get better and this is probably my biggest beef with Crean. -

Ouch! But with alot MORE talent which is so sad. -
Offensively yes, but height, strength and D ability say not yet. Honestly my concern right now is if there is a coaching change can the next guy keep JBJ, RJ, ect here.

Revised Season Expectations

As I said in another post, beat Louisville and we are back on track  -
Pitt is looking pretty tough, as usual.

I'm watching to see what AE and Remy do this year and especially Hollowell next year. If they have Mo Creek type years after transferring that doesn't look good for the program.

BYU is no slouch. Purdue will be a hand full.

Oh crap. Yea, I know who the kid is. Total brain fart. My step mom is a guidance councelor at his high school in Alabama. He committed somewhere else, backed off that then Painter came in at the end.
-
Raphael Davis would eat Hanner for lunch right now. And who is this Haas kid? Painter can afford to sit Hammons lazy butt on the bench.
-
Yea, he didn't seem to be too concerned about it. Wonder why they don't tape it?
-
We can't even begin to handle either team down low. Plus, they both place pretty good defense. Not looking forward to it.
-
Butler and Purdue would whip our butts right now.
-
Purdue is looking pretty darn good. Regardless of of people say on hear there is some talent on that squad and Painter can coach Defense. They will surprise in conference.

I quit paying attention to this Crean babble long ago. Sorry for not being super excited about these guys. These guys are decent recruits I think, but honestly neither are game changers. I'm pretty sick of hearing how every no name recruit is gonna be another Victor. I think the staff has milked that one long enough. I have zero faith in this staff so I'm praying for a coaching change so I can get excited about recruiting again.

The State of our program- How do you guys feel about it?
Alford Bailey replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The basketball program isn't anywhere close to where it should be and who outside of the Bloomington city limits cares about the other sports? -
I'm a huge JBJ fan. Watched him a bunch. The kid never had to play D in high school. I knew his D would be a work in progress.

Yea, and guys were talking about him going to the NBA early. Troy is a great athlete but really doesn't have a clue. -
So who's going to be the new Coach next year?
Alford Bailey replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I'm honestly not worrying about the "who" right now. If the job comes available there will be top candidates interested. The right guy (Good coach and top recruiter) could turn this thing around pretty quickly. -

Honestly, I think we need to replace the AD first. Glass is tickled pink with both Crean and Wilson. -

I thought the exact same thing last night. We need Cuban involved with the program. He wouldn't put up with this crap!
