How crazy would this be.
Scott Drew to Kentucky.
Bryce Drew to Baylor.
BTW, I have not seen anything about this whatsoever (other than the rumors of Scott to Lexington), so it's not like I'm backing anything with fact. I just made it up.
We GCU fans would not like that. But I also recognize that sooner or later, someone is coming for Bryce. -

1. The fact he was over the minimum number of games to be eligible for a redshirt and
2. The NCAA already not counting 20-21 as a year for anyone, meaning the redshirt would be meaningless.
Even the NCAA can’t blow that case.
Don't bet on it.

Is it the goal of the administration that ran the program into the ground - to make the place so toxic for the upper tier of coaches that none would ever consider coming here? It seems to be working.

On the other hand I just feel like the Giant standing under the basket is sort of gimmicky? Edey reminds me of my teenage years with my nerf basketball goal in my bedroom. I think it is unhealthy for the game and I’m glad it’s over for now.
His whole career he make me think of the Chief Bromden (Will Sampson) in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

I do wonder how people smart enough to amass millions, even billions of dollars of wealth can be so stupid, so short-sighted, so uninformed and so misguided at times. Seriously. It's mind boggling to me.

Kowtowing to big money boosters to hire an old Calipari who underperforms is not caring. It's a bad decision and that has nothing to do with Dolson or Woodson.
- It's the exact same situation that Indiana is in. They hired an unqualified coach at the rate of $3-4.5M/year and he's being retained because the billionaire supporters say so. Clearly Dolson and Buckner kowtowed to the Cooks and Simons. If it's a bad move for Arkansas, it was a bad move for Indiana. From where I sit, I'd say neither of them care as much about the future of their respective programs as they should.

If you believe what KathywithaC had to say, QB told Dolson if he missed on Stevens he had to hire Woodson, which would mean that Woodson was the back-up plan.
That’s just pathetic. -
6 minutes ago, Stuhoo said:Oh... forgot about that. Yes, the Miller brothers are Calipari Pittsburgh acolytes. I guess that means Archie is a 'no' too, and that therefore Bruiser will not stay on with the new coach! ;)
Still, Sean Miller would be a great hire for them.
Goodman is reporting:
I asked 4 SEC head coaches to anonymously rank the following 6 Kentucky candidates:“Who do you fear the most?”
Here are the results:
1. Scott Drew
2. Bruce Pearl
3. Nate Oats
4. Billy Donovan
5. Sean Miller

4 minutes ago, Stuhoo said:If showing you care is crazy overpaying for a 64 year old John Calipari whose teams have consistently underachieved starting the moment every team was allowed to deliver a bag of cash?
Then count me as not wanting someone who "cares."
It's far less crazy than overpaying a 63 year old mediocre NBA coach with no college experience. Calipari, for all of his baggage has at least accomplished something in the NCAA tournament. No worse than Dolson looking (seriously) at guys like Pearl and Oats.

Throw in Galloway, Reneau, etc and there’s nothing young about that roster.
"We're young" was the excuse Woodson used all last season to "explain" why he was a crappy coach.

They will be young and getting to know one another clean up to February at the least. Woodson "recruiting" this way brings built in excuses for his coaching ineptitude.

Someone at IU will hit the panic button, thinking UK will try to poach Woody and give him a four-year extension and jack up his buyout to $20M.
Stranger things have happened. :D
I guess I could see Cal leaving Kentucky.. After all, they're blue blood, and been down of late. Maybe time for them to make a change. Not sure Arkansas is the place, if the rumors of impending NCAA activity are true. But Cal is the guy to just deny, deny, deny and pick up the pieces.

I don't doubt that Woodson promised players starting roles, but that's the stupid part. He still doesn't know what the team will look like. He has SIX openings on the roster and has (apparently) already promised 3 or 4 starting positions. All of this "top flight" talent that the Simons and Cooks are buying for him is not going to be interested in coming off the bench. As usual, Woodson's infinite wisdom has painted himself into a corner.

Does he ask for more NIL money?Actually, does anyone here know the specifics of NIL money/donations whatever you call it/Rules/Regulations/Guidelines? Can family members of players receive benefits? Etc…..what is the rule book or is it like the wild wild west? I suppose it was like what before in some places and circumstances.
Information would be appreciated.
I don't think there are many rules. And with the courts staying any NCAA "interference", they're completely hands-off, it's a free-for-all situation today.
As far as family members getting benefits, not sure, but there are ways around it. You could argue that whoever donated Leal's NIL last year paid his sister's student loans - that's always an effective workaround - give the cash to the player and let them hand it out to family members.

I think his ego is just so big that if he gets the right players he will be right back going 12-8 in the league. Which to him is an amazing job.
Well, 10-10 in a down league is a crappy job. I don't see a two game swing suddenly making it an amazing season. What are they smoking in Bloomington?

Surely though, many can see through that game.
On the surface, it appears that Buckner is calling the shots. And I have been one beating the "it's Buckner's issue" drum. But I can also see another scenario here. Remember when you were younger and were invited to a party/sleepover/camping trip by friends that you really didn't want to go to, and had your parents say "no" for you? That's what I see happening here. Dolson was scared to make a move, so he's pointing to daddy Quinn and trying to shift the blame. But as athletic director, those calls are Dolson's job. It's his job to fight for what he thinks is best. Clearly he's not done squat in that regard.
Fire them all: Buckner, Dolson and Woodson.
