Is this just a constant stream of commercials now?
-
Was thinking the same. ESPN continues to be a joke. Jalen Wilson I understand. The other 2...laughable. ESPN big mad that Fox has our games.
-
Sensabaugh or Miller?
-
Agreed. For Jalen and LA fantastic fit.

Wow haha Wiz really are having a hell of a week. Jarace gonna be a beast for the Pacers.
-
Missed it, Pacers get cash for the swap?
-
Wow little surprised with this one

Who fills the last scholarship?

Local rumor is that when he transferred from ISU to UK, not all credits transferred perfectly toward the degree path. As a former transfer, I (and many others) know how rough this can be, losing a semester or possibly more of classes. It may be a stretch to get done by end of summer but certainly possible. He could also petition NCAA for a waiver. -
(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Would love to have Queen on board, but am I cynical for thinking that being from the DVM and being on the Under Armour circuit puts Maryland as an obvious choice? Someone please convince me I'm wrong. -
(2022) - CG Jalen Hood-Schifino to INDIANA
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Walker would be a great fit, and he is physically ready day 1. Maybe they could package 26 +29 for somewhere around 20. Not sure of the value of the late 1RPs though. -

I kind of think he will be gone before the Pacers pick due to his projection and recent hype. Also, who do you want as a realistic option at 7? Jarace Walker? Taylor Hemdricks? -
Sabonis was a brilliant player, sad that he doesnt get the recognition because his "prime" was as a pro in Lithuania and Spain. So good with Portland, but he is always a "what could have been" if he spent more time in the NBA. Back to Jokic, should have won 3 straight MVP but the BS excuse of "voter fatigue" got in the way.

(2023) - PG Gabe Cupps to INDIANA

Yeah, saw that too. Twitter comments are a cesspool, and this one should win a prize. -
I mean TB went to the front office and requested to be moved. I still think he could be a solid piece but would either be on a worse team or the fit would have to be extremely good to mask his defense. Otherwise, in playoff time he would be heavily hunted on switches.

Bro gonna commit to IU Southeast.

Yeah I think the "NBA arenas dont come close" narrative is overkill. College atmospheres do tend to be more hype on average. Regular season NBA crowds dont usually get crazy loud, but we are used to being a part of one of the best home crowds in college so our vantage point is from the top. NBA playoff crowds hit different than regular season, especially those OKC crowds, MSG, Boston, Philly, Sacramento, LA sometimes.

Basketball Announcers Besides Fisch
BtownStrength replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
College: Hummel is great and hope we get a ton of games this year. Smart, insightful, and funny. Pro: love Mike Breen. Good main play commentator and his signature calls are emphatic and iconic. Color commentator: SVG gives great analysis. Smart basketball mind who isnt afraid to say what he means or call someone out. -
76ers and losing in the conference semis...name a more iconic duo. Once Tatum boomed them in the 4th of game 6, felt like they were crushed.

2023 SF/PF Mackenzie Mgbako to INDI-F’N-ANA

Like that he is making the decision quickly. Maybe(probably) means nothing, but better than a longer process. -

Exactly this. I know many posters long for the days when a kid plays for the pride of the school (and it's still true in some cases), but there are many variables in each recruitment. Money is a HUGE one. Within the last year, I changed jobs from a job I loved into a position I was very uncertain about, and one of the key factors was a substantial pay increase. Now I imagine an 18 year old mind, and if the difference in money is 5-10x what I left for, it would play a major influence. I think IU has the money to keep them in conversation, but we have to accept kids will be looking for pay. They add a lot of value for the university. -
Added to your 3, Sensabaugh, Howard, and Bufkin.are all probable 1st rounders. Sensabaugh, IMO, has potential to be a high level player, and Kobe Bufkin really came on strong. I could see him carving a role.

Home and away jerseys dont really exist in the NBA anymore. For the regular season, they get a schedule and wear what Nike tells them to wear. In the Playoffs, I think (although not 100%, someone please correct me if I'm wrong) the home team selects their jersey and the road team has to pick one that contrasts.

Not sure how injuries fall under this, but Vic still has a player option for 1 year. ~9.5M on his contract. He might retire, but I hope he opts in, gets the $$$, and uses NBA level rehab facilities even if he never plays again.

(2024) - SG Jaeden Mustaf to Georgia Tech
BtownStrength replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
How would you say Mustaf's game compares/contrasts with JHS? -
Looked bad. I hate this.
