This is the dream. I could be way off, but I think Shertz is going to be a star coach. -

I know he's crazy young, but assuming Florida builds and has another good year, how would we feel about Todd Golden? I think he won't be at the top of the list but he seems like he is thought of very highly. -

Is the Pitino smoke real? Locally eveyone here is talking about Shertz with Pitino (or Kelsey from Charleston) as backups. -

I hope Pitino goes to UofL. The meme value would be through the roof. -

Yeah seems wild. Maybe we can pouch Sampson's son from Houston. -

Absolute insanity. Good mid major coach but idk he can succeed at high level. -
"Coach Morgan has a hell of a team" Tbh I doubt he knows there was a women's game.

This combined with the fact that making a lateral/slight downgrade can "reset the clock" on job time...seems like a move. -
Top 4-5 in Big Ten and 2nd round loss is probably borderline. I would guess he stays but that's a tough call. Agree that sweet 16 and competing for Big Ten he will be back, and 1st round blowout he will be fired.

As depressing as it is to miss on Dusty, it's even more depressing that Woodson will be coaching us. I could stand losing Dusty if we had hope in another candidate.
-
Good news is unless we have an insane influx of talent, Woodson will be gone next year. Can't see him improving significantly. He isn't a "do more with less" coach.
-
I mean I know this board can have some controversial opinions at times but DAMN!

Listening to sports talk radio in Louisville right now and they seem to be enthusiastic for May and say that's the most likely choice at this point. Obviously not over the moon as they would be with Pearl or Drew but they seem cool with it. Called it a "strong hire". -
Certainly feels that way. Lame duck coach will only stall any rebuild while other programs advance. First time in a while I will not be looking forward to basketball season.
-
Yeah but that seems unlikely anytime soon. He has built a great roster.
-
So Boston has to win a title for Brad to leave? I hate it
-
-
Nah. That might actually get some viewers.
-
"Crapshoot" seems, from the outside, to be the strategy all along. And Woodson isn't a great gambler.
-
It's sad and frustrating, but this is the risk when you hire a former player, especially one who is beloved by the old guard and rich friends. Getting rid of "one of your own" is always harder, and it's a big reason why I would not want a former player hired unless it was an absolute grand slam. Realistically, we are looking at one more year of Woodson then scrambling again. Hopefully, QB will have no more excuses when we miss the tourney again in '25.

We will look like UofL

Mike Woodson to return as coach next season

Exactly. Positivity my friend. The bank account will be happier. I use a percentage of my paycheck for trips to Bloomington and tickets/ apparel. With tonight's news, that $$ next year will be on tickets to see Leo Messi when Inter comes to Columbus. More value than sinking into the dysfunction. We should not support this garbage. Speak with the wallet. -
