It's not a matter of the coaches letting it happen. It's by design and delegation. There's no aspect of the program that Crean does not exert (or attempt to exert) control over.
Not to mention the fact that Crean has a long history of getting into it with opposing players, including distraction tactics on the sideline near IU's bench.
Now it appears he has S&C coach Anderson shouldering some of the load. Let's no kid ourselves by thinking Anderson's gone rogue or doesn't understand his role.
