The USA has the 12 best basketball players in the tournament. Not really that impressive.

(2017) OT Caleb Jones to IU
Hoosierfan2017 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
If you know an IU Bloomington student they can get you a student ticket for $10, I did it for a friend last year, but I'm not sure if IU students from other campuses get the discount. -
I'm ready for 2016 IU Football
Hoosierfan2017 replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
On the iufb website it says he rushed for 1,938 yards and 23 touchdowns his senior year of high school. Of course big 10 football is a different level but it looks like the foundation is there. It still seems like a weird move, though. -
It almost always seems like the "open minded" people are the first ones to shut down discussion with buzzwords like close minded, bigot, racist, etc. when an opinion they disagree with is mentioned. No one's comments here have really come off as "butthurt" to me.

Why is that? Personally what bathroom someone uses is the least of my concerns, but some people have, in their opinion, very legitimate reasons for supporting the bill.

I just find it curious that the NBA moves the all star game to protest a law that they believe discriminates against lgbt individuals, but then opens up stores in countries where lgbt people are executed. It makes it seem like they don't actually care about the community, just their bottom line, but that's a discussion for another day.

Yogi Ferrell - Buducnost VOLI Podgorica (Montonegro)
Hoosierfan2017 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Yogi lives to fight another day. Great to see. Hopefully summer league got rid of his jitters. -

This seems like an odd time to make that decision.

http://btn.com/2016/07/20/dienhart-ranking-the-big-tens-top-10-defensive-backs/ Redshirt Jr. Rashard Fant was ranked the #10 DB in the Big 10. I'm really hoping for a big year from him. Outstanding kid. -
I didn't know much about Mike Pence before he was picked as Trump's running mate, but he gave a great speech tonight imo. It's cool seeing someone from Indiana on the national stage.

That's fair. I think I was probably too extreme with using "loser" in this situation. I guess I had the image of the kids of the very rich who don't really do a whole lot and just live off their parents' money in my mind. The Johnny Manziel (his current state) types of the world you could say. Trump's kids seem like the type who would've been very successful even if they hadn't had their father's billion dollar business to work for after college. I don't know how much parenting the Donald actually did, but whoever raised them did a great job.

It seems like a lot of the time the children of billionaires end up being losers, but Trump's kids are very impressive.

Troy Williams - Taiwan Beer (Taiwan Super League)
Hoosierfan2017 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
So how are the Suns at Troy's position? Would he have a better shot with them or another team? -
I don't know if I would call it an embarrassment for them. I think that what happened to us last season at Duke was embarrassing, but no one would expect these guys to compete with them. They're missing out on both a cool experience to play in one of the best venues in college basketball and an opportunity to improve by playing against a top team.

I forgot all about this law once the media quit talking about it a while back. It sucks that the Albany players are being punished for something that they had absolutely nothing to do with.
-
I'm a senior at IU spending this summer studying for the LSAT/preparing application material. I've looked into IU's law school and like a lot of things about it, plus it makes sense for personal reasons, but I have some doubts. If anyone has any insights about Maurer or the legal field in general that they could share with me I'd appreciate it.

Troy Williams - Taiwan Beer (Taiwan Super League)
Hoosierfan2017 replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Troy has the potential to be an NBA player. He has the physical attributes that you need to make it in the league. I just haven't seen anything at all in his three years at IU that suggests he's ever going to realize his potential. -

I kinda feel bad for him. If he had people truly in his corner, instead of people trying to laugh all the way to the bank, he probably wouldn't be in this situation. Hope he took a foreign language class at IU. -
Does anyone know what Thomas Bryant's original Instagram post was? He has a new one up and said he deleted the first one.

I try to separate players from their personal views because otherwise I don't think I would want to root for some of my favorite players. Same with actors/actresses and their movies. One thing is for sure though, you couldn't pay me enough to be a cop in today's America.

NBA fans...let's hear YOUR big 3
Hoosierfan2017 replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
People only think he's a flopper because of Twitter/Vine. Acting for fouls is really the only way he'll get calls most of the time. He takes more contract than 99% of the league during a game, it just doesn't look like it because he's 6'8, 260+ pounds and guys bounce right off him. It's the same thing that Shaq dealt with. You get mauled but no one cares because you're so much bigger than everyone else. You complain and everyone calls you a wuss because someone made a vine and it gets 5 million loops. He would've adjusted his game, or went and led the NFL in receiving yards. -
Could Durant have thrown those games so he could leave OKC? I just think it's incredibly weak to battle a team in a 7 game series and then join up with them after they beat you. It'd be like Jordan heading to the Pistons after getting beat down.
-
He joined the team with the best regular season record in NBA history. The team that knocked his team out after being down 3-1. He was already on a title contender. He couldn't beat them, so he joined them. So yeah, he's a *****. It's the weakest decision by a "superstar" in NBA history. This is 100x worse than LeBron leaving for Miami.

Lol.
