I guess I just find it hard to understand how someone could have gone through all those things that he alleges Knight did and still care a lot about him, respect him, see him as a father figure, etc. I would have told the guy to kick rocks the moment he squeezed my balls, cracked a clipboard over my head, etc and never looked back. Like Stuhoo said though, using a logical thought process while trying to figure out this situation probably won't work given Jadlow's path in life.

If someone squeezed me by the balls I wouldn't be able to stop myself from swinging on them, let alone be able to respect them or look up to them. Everyone is different though, I guess. Knight was a mean SOB with borderline psychotic tactics. The culture he grew up in was completely different than the one we live in now. Whether you think that's a good thing or a bad thing doesn't matter, it's not fair to judge his actions then with our culture now. I just find some of his allegations now, almost 30 years after they happened, extremely suspect given the incentives to make them up.

Found this quote from Jadlow at http://www.espn.com/seasonbrink/todd_jadlow.html. "of Knight's former players, Jadlow might have taken the Coach's dismissal from IU the hardest. "I don't know what I'm going to do with all my Indiana stuff," Jadlow said after Knight's firing. "I'm sure not going to be wearing anything Indiana. For the first time in my life I'm ashamed to say that I'm a graduate of Indiana." He went on to say: "I, personally, don't believe the two-faced (IU) administration… It's just sad the way things transpired. This is a guy (Knight) who should have a monument of him erected." If the quote is legit then that doesn't sound like a guy who experienced the things he's now claiming to have experienced.

Always be wary of allegations made by someone with something to sell. "Todd Jadlow wrote a book? Who cares, he's a junkie." vs. "Todd Jadlow wrote a book and said in it that Coach Knight grabbed players by the balls and threw tampons at them? Lemme check it out for myself."

How much did Bryant weigh last year? He looked kind of lanky to me which I think made it more difficult to bang in the paint. He should be an absolute monster at 255 this year. -

I think it's karma for so many students missing home games early on last year. -

We're not going to go bowling if Lagow remains our quarterback, imo. It's doubtful we will if we bench him for another guy, but at this point we have to try someone else. Even if it's just for a quarter or two. Every game Lagow has a few possessions that make you go "see, he has the ability to be a starting Big 10 quarterback, he just needs to bring this for four quarters." But he never does. He'll look good for a little bit, turn around and throw a pass right to the other team, and repeat. -

I'm a senior. Rutgers, Michigan State and Purdue are the 3 Big 10 games I got. I got North Carolina too so I'm pumped about that. The other 7 are the early season games against schools I've never heard of. Hope College, Houston Baptist, Southeast Missouri State, SIU-Edwardsville, Mississippi Valley State, U-Mass Lowell, and Bellarmine. After I first posted I was looking at our schedule and it looks like I got 3 of our biggest home games so I'm pretty happy with my overall ticket package. I was just surprised at first that I only got three Big 10 games because it felt like I got a lot more last year. -

Have any other students gotten their tickets this year? I feel like I got much worse tickets than I got last year. I wonder if student ticket sales are up this year. -

I don't know if there's anyone who would come here that would be a clear upgrade over him. I don't think he's a bad coach by any means. Recruiting seems to be improving overall. We have athletes on the field who look like they belong in the Big 10. His play calling drives me crazy though. He does things over and over again even after it's clear they're not working. I'm just worried that we're going to stay in this "getting better and coming close" limbo for forever -

I'm starting to lose confidence that Coach Wilson is the right guy. Is that crazy? -

We don't think Zander is a good qb. We know who he is as a player and that our offense is limited with him on the field. It's just the fact that Lagow is obviously not the answer and we need to try someone else if we want to salvage the season. -

The answer probably isn't on our roster but we have to try something different if we want to salvage the season and go bowling. I'm not big on blaming one guy for a loss, but I feel that blaming Lagow for both today's loss and the Wake Forest loss is reasonable. We can't afford to lose games where our defense plays as well as it did today. Zander would severely limit our offense but honestly right now the offense is really limited by Lagow's inability to throw the ball to the right team. Wilson runs the same plays over and over again because he can't trust him with much else. -

Agreed. I personally think Zander is a pretty awful quarterback but we're not getting anything from Lagow either. Give him a series or two at the start of the third and see what happens. -

Wth is going on. The play calling has been bothering me for awhile and this game it has been absolutely terrible. If Lagow can't handle the full playbook then get someone in who can. Our defense has been outstanding and we decide to just lay down and surrender on offense. -

I don't agree with immediately releasing a guy if he's charged with a crime. This situation is different since Enis admitted to the crime, but in general I'm not a fan of it. I wouldn't want to be in a situation where I lose everything I've worked for and my life is ruined because I was falsely accused of a crime. It's easy to say cut the athlete immediately and that IU is under no obligation to give an athlete due process when you're not the one with your future on the line. Just because it's technically true doesn't mean it's right.
-
Agreed. I think a lot of the criticism comes from people, myself included, who love IU basketball and football but don't really care about IU's other sports very much. He's doing exactly what an athletic director should do, I just care about iufb and iubb more than IU athletics as a whole so a lot of the things he does go unnoticed. I don't like the new name at all, but it's whatever. When you donate $40 million that's what you get to do. At least "assembly hall" is still included.

Indiana’s Jerome Johnson cited for underage consumption

Agreed. The football players represent IU and having your guys passing out in dorm staircases is a really bad look. I'm guessing he has some dates with his track shoes to look forward to. -
(2017) PG Paul Scruggs to Xavier
Hoosierfan2017 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
So true. Maybe he thinks that this will get him more "exposure," but is he really lacking in that category? If the NBA is his goal then the schools on his list can get him there. It's not like he's really going to be playing against much better teams than he would have at Southport. A lot of these basketball prep schools are highly ranked, but they would probably lose to the top 4a teams in Indiana. They're full of highly ranked players but their games seem to look more like aau games. -
Darius Latham to the Oakland Raiders

I think being far away from the Indy area will be very good for him. He should be someone who really benefits from being able to focus on football 24/7, I hope he keeps that undrafted chip on his shoulder. He always seemed like a nice guy from my experiences with him, hopefully he's got a long career ahead of him.
