42% from the field and 5.5 turnovers a game lol. He's a great talent but efficiency isn't his strong suit. I think it's more like he does his own thing and Billy coaches the other guys.
-
Yup. The same problems we've had this year will be back next year, and we won't have as much offensive firepower to try and mask them. No JBJ, no TB, and still no point guard. Ugh.
-
Justin Smith should be pretty good. He's not a program changer or anything but he'll be solid. All 3 of our recruits seem like they'll be solid in years 3 and 4 but I don't think they'll move the needle much next year.
-
I like watching this Michigan team.
-
We only get so much free time so we're going to spend it on things that are enjoyable. IU didn't put an enjoyable product on the court this year, so a lot of fans weren't going to watch it. If they're going to turn the ball over 20 times, chuck up 3s and not play defense for two hours then I'm going to find something better to do.
-
Same. Fred Glass has a chance to prove to all of us how much he really cares about IU being an elite program. If he keeps Crean that shows me that he lied about everything he said. I'm not being a bandwagon fan. I won't be leaving because we're bad. If Crean stays I'll be leaving because we're bad and the people in charge don't care that we're bad. If the guys making 6-7 figures to control IU basketball don't care, there's no reason for me to either. IU basketball will always be special to me, but the days of watching every game and spending any money on the program would be over.
-
I like IU, but not enough to stick around and root for garbage teams. If the guys at the top let the fans know that they don't care about winning then neither will I.
-
One thing's for sure. If Crean is back next year I won't bother jumping on the tank train again. Glass will have let us know that he doesn't care if Crean puts together bad teams that lose a lot of games. There are enough good games out there to watch to fill my free time.

Lol switching it up today?
-
I know youre joking in this post but I could see some apologists making this argument. For them, we couldn't even make the tournament with this squad so I can't see us being better after he replaces the guys we lose with worse players.
-
Crean getting 26% of the votes is the real problem. Give fans of Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, etc. our results over the past four years and I think the % who would want the coach back would be very close to 0. Too many fans that are satisfied with mediocrity and being relevant once every now and then. They don't expect excellence in the first place so of course they're not upset when we don't achieve it.

That thing reads like a love letter, yuck.

I'm trying not to get banned lol my real feelings on Glass would get me sent outta town.
-
Looks like we could be seeing the death of IU basketball in a few hours. Today is a sad day. Like an upset parent would say... I'm not mad at you Fred Glass, I'm just disappointed.
-
Idk, but the rest better go to Cody.
-
Glass seems like the type of guy who likes to do things the "right way" and lose with a smile on his face. "Awe shucks guys, we gave it our best shot, that's all that matters!"
-
It seems like the janitor sensed a chance to have fun screwing with people and took it. If that's what he wants then good for him, but people are going to stop seeing him as an important source now and later on down the line.
-
I saw this before seeing the context and wondered what I missed lol.
-
I thought so but with the format they've got going on I'm not sure what I'm reading. It's like they had an 8 year old design their site. Just go with it, it's getting the page count up lol.
-
Am I seeing things or did one of their posters say that we're not a better job than Missouri?
-
I don't even think that would surprise me. You never know what you're going to get out of him and his teams. They can go out and bury 3s, win by 20, and look like a final four contender one day, and then turn around the next day and look like a bunch of guys picking up basketballs for the first time. He looked like he was making improvements as a coach last season but then this year he was back to being typical Crean. I'll never understand the guy.
-
Honestly I can't think of any positives of Crean being back next year. No recruiting violations? I guess that's a positive. No positives relating to on court performance though.
-
I don't think firing him is a bad look. I mean, the past four seasons he has finished 8th, 7th, 1st, 10th. Which one is the aberration? Sure he won the conference last year but he followed it up with his worst season since 2010-2011. We aren't firing him just because of one bad season. He has demonstrated an inability to put together a stable, consistent program. Add in his recruiting woes and I think it's understandable why we're firing him. His performance would get him fired at a number of schools. The media's gonna media but I don't think we should be worried about it being a bad look. Coaching candidates will realize that he was fired for his body of work and not this one season.
-
If Crean really is struggling to find a new job then that should tell Glass all he needs to know. I don't get why the "soft landing" is so important. Sure, help the guy out if you can, but it shouldn't impact Glass's decision about firing him. We've given him $20+ million I think he'll be fine.
-
If Glass doesn't fire Crean then McRobbie needs to come in and throw both of them out. It's as simple as that.
