Indiana @ Northwestern - Sunday 6:30 on BTN - Official Game Thread

Bryant would get pushed off the block by a middle schooler. The gym sounds pretty loud on tv, I wonder what percent of the people there are IU fans.

Lol even the announcers think Bryant has been playing outside too much this year.

(2017) SF Jordan Tucker- OV 11/30/16

No idea the capacity of the visit, or if this is the actual men's basketball gym, but he posted this video and if the Georgia Tech filter is like the IU one once you're only a mile or two off campus it stops showing up to use. Edit: After googling George Tech's basketball facilities it looks like that's where he is

Looks like Tucker's at Georgia Tech today per Instagram.

Given the good news from Blackmon Sr. my conspiracy theory stays alive lol.

    Lineup for NW

If this season is a lost cause might as well see what he has to offer. I'm not saying play him even five minutes, but maybe bring him in after a timeout to run a play or two to get him an open 3. At this point we have to throw whatever we have at the wall and hope something sticks.

    Lineup for NW

I like the starters but I don't think we have the bodies to start both DD and TB. We can't risk one of them getting in early foul trouble. As much as I dislike McBob getting legitimate minutes he's probably the best choice to add to the lineup. Crean just has to be careful who he plays him with.

So would I. Calipari wouldn't be close to the top of my list of dream coaches for IU. Given the choice between his style and what Crean has done here I just think I would take Calipari. I would much rather have a coach who competes at a high level while running a relatively clean program like Jay Wright. (Bloomington's a great place Jay Wright, come visit please)

He's as slimy as they get but I think I would take that over what we've had for the past 9 years, especially if Crean ends up staying for another 2-3 years or more. Of course not everyone will agree with that, but you aren't going to win in today's NCAA unless you're operating in the gray areas. I would rather win "dirty" than lose the "right way" but that's just my personal opinion.

If Calipari had came here we'd likely have a few more banners hanging in Assembly Hall right now. What could've been...

Lol that's probably true. I was imagining a scenario where jbj was going to miss tomorrow's game regardless. If he announced it right before tipoff that wouldn't be enough time for us to lower expectations. This way we have a full 24 hours before the game to digest it. At this point it's just a huge guessing game trying to figure out wth is going on with our team lol.

IU's ridiculously vague press releases drive me into creating conspiracy theories lol. We'll have a somewhat better idea what's going on after we see how many games he misses.

    TOM CREAN FIRED

I didn't want to bring Crean into the jbj thread so I'm posting here. Does anyone think it's possible the Marion announcer guy is right that it's a day to day injury and Crean made the announcement to help save his job? He's obviously feeling the heat and is probably worried that a loss to Northwestern will throw the fan base into anarchy. Announcing jbj is out "indefinitely" immediately lowers expectations. Now if we drop our next few games it's expected and if we win we "overcame adversity."

James Blackmon Jr. day to day

It'd be really bizarre for them to make a huge announcement if it's a day to day injury, especially since he played the rest of the game Thursday night and no one really noticed that he was injured. "As much as this hurts our basketball team, it hurts us much more for James." You don't really come out and say something like that about a kid who's nursing a day to day injury. Weird.

James Blackmon Jr. day to day

I think he'll get a shot with someone because of his shooting alone. How the other facets of his game will translate to the NBA, idk, but he'll get his chance to find out. Would it be better for him to go undrafted so he could pick the right situation?
  16. Hoosierfan2017

James Blackmon Jr. day to day

I don't. Right now his draft status is 'undrafted' so it's not like he can hurt it by playing a little banged up and underperforming. With OG out he has had an increased role which would help him improve his stock. I could see him sitting out with a relatively minor injury because he wants to be cautious. Given his injury history that would make sense and be the smart thing to do. But his basketball future beyond IU isn't all that bright unless he's down to play internationally. I can't see him giving up the rest of his college career for that. His goal is the NBA and sitting out doesn't help him get there.

Indiana @ Northwestern - Sunday 6:30 on BTN - Official Game Thread

He seems decent enough on defense and he throws down some pretty cool put-back dunks every now and then. As long as we don't try feeding him the ball in the post and we avoid playing him with Newkirk or McRoberts he should be serviceable.

Indiana @ Northwestern - Sunday 6:30 on BTN - Official Game Thread

Rojo maybe? With Blackmon out though teams can focus on shutting him down and then we're screwed. I'm worried we'll see a Newkirk, Rojo, McRoberts, Morgan, TB starting lineup with Green and Cujo getting about the same minutes they've been getting. The two of them should split Jbj's ~30 mpg but who knows what Crean will actually do with them.

Indiana @ Northwestern - Sunday 6:30 on BTN - Official Game Thread

Yogi's not running through the tunnel this time so I can't see us turning the season around. Like you said, we don't have the offensive firepower to replace what JBJ brought. Now we'll probably have a bad offense to go along with our bad defense. These next 10 games might get ugly.

Crean wasn't getting it done when we had our full team. We were playing like a borderline tournament team before OG went down. Hopefully Glass doesn't let him slide with that excuse this time.

James Blackmon Jr. day to day

This came outta left field. I wish we got a little more info than "lower leg" and "out indefinitely." Whatever could go wrong this season has.

    Fred Glass accepts mediocre basketball

I thought he had turned a corner last year as well. He seemed to be making adjustments better than before and improving as a coach. Then he went right back to the same old Crean this year. At this point I don't think he's ever going to change.
