They act like blowouts never happened in the 4 team playoff. In 2022, TCU lost by 58 points. In 2021, both semifinal games were decided by 21+ points. In 2020, ND lost by 17 and Clemson lost by 21. In 2019, Oklahoma lost by 35. Basically every year at least one game is a blowout. We didn’t play well at all, but it’s nowhere close to the worst we’ve seen.

I’m sure we’ll see plenty of takes this afternoon about SMU from the SEC crowd. They’re undefeated in hypothetical matchups. But screw em. You go to a 12 team playoff to have these teams make it that wouldn’t make a 4 team playoff. Their pro-Bama arguments would have a lot more merit if we didn’t watch Alabama get boat raced by a trash Oklahoma team less than a month ago.

Last year I wanted the team to tank so that we’d fire Mike Woodson. This year I just want the season over with so that we’re closer to football season. I have no faith in the administration to do the right thing here.

I’m so freaking sick of this joker. We have so many transfers because he refuses to recruit high schoolers to balance out classes, and then he uses the “newness” as an excuse for his team sucking. Dude is such a joke.

IU gave him a million dollar raise after winning one tournament game in two years. We really have no reason to believe he’s gone absent missing the tournament again. The expectations are so in the gutter for iubb that “you can’t fire the guy who took you to three tournaments in four years” will be the talking point.

Yeah I’m honestly really hoping he doesn’t get the kind “retirement” angle to his departure. His behavior during his tenure has been anything but graceful, so I’m not looking to see him get a “retirement” cop out. He’ll already be getting a multi-million dollar gift in the way of his buyout.

I don’t think there’s really anything they can do to make it better that they’d actually be willing to do. It feels like the cat’s out of the bag at this point. Honestly with the rapid changes in just the last few years I wouldn’t be surprised if 10-15 years from we look back on this period as the “good ole days.”

I’ve never loved the free transfer rule. Reimplementing the old rule would certainly solve a lot of the madness. It + NIL helps level the playing field for a school like IU, but it’s not good for the game.

It leads to situations like Penn State’s backup quarterback entering the transfer portal while his team is competing for a national championship. It’s not a good model.

You pump constant pro Woodson content in the Fire Mike Woodson thread, constantly chastised people for wanting him fired/posting in this thread, and now cry victim when you’re getting pushback. Cmon man.

They really need to fix the timing of the portal. No reason that the portal should be going on while the season is still being played. And yes I understand academic calendars and what not, but there’s gotta be a better solution than the current model.

Honestly if you have to hire help to teach your 63 year old new coach how to be a coach, that’s a sure fire sign that you’re making the wrong pick..

I love how Woodson’s supporters call it “character assassination” when people criticize Woodson for refusing to actually do the job he’s paid millions of dollars to do. Sorry, but some of us aren’t happy to see him loaf around collecting a paycheck. We want a guy who actually cares about the program to be running it.

It’s not even like the Archie Miller hire that looked good at the time but in hindsight was a bad decision. It was crystal clear from day 1 that it was a horrible hire yet they did it anyway and have subjected us to four years of it.

Nah, it’s 100% his fault. Effort is something you have complete control over. Woodson puts zero effort into his job. He can’t put together a competent team despite having a blank check to do so because of his lack of effort. He’s not getting a pass for that.

No one believes that your “obligations” happen to pop up every single time the King’s team takes a dump on the court. But yes, I chose to do other things rather than watch Nebraska stomp IU by double digits for the fourth consecutive time.
