Game Thread: Indiana at Nebraska 9est BTN

This has been the worst 3 minutes we've played in a while. Call a timeout and regroup or something.

Game Thread: Indiana at Nebraska 9est BTN

Please, more shots of the Nebraska bench mob please. Said no one ever.
  3. I just get the feeling he'll go to Vandy because it makes too much sense for him to go to IU. Better team, better coach, focus of an offense, better program, better facilities, and more exposure will all be trumped by wanting to play with his buddy and a coach he's known for a little bit longer.

Yeah the quadrants are a joke. Gary Parrish was talking about the quadrants and as it stands right now, a home win against Duke is just as good as a win against Wyoming on the road. Those are both quadrant 1 wins.
  5. Dang, that's true. Ugh. He's trying to build his brand without going to IU. It's got all the signs of Darius Garland all over again.
  6. Yep I agree. Unfortunately what's painfully obvious to us isn't as obvious to 18 year old kids. Even removing the fan aspect from it, IU is far and away the best choice among the 3 schools he's considering. Recruiting often makes little sense though.
  7. I didn't say it's over. I said it seems like his decision has already been made. Tim Langford's words, literally the words that came out of his mouth, were that he was going to give the Indiana coaches one last time to sell their program to Romeo and how he fits into the program. If I was a Vandy fan, I'd read that and be incredibly optimistic that he has yet to really buy what IU has been selling. Getting the last visit is good, but the fact he said "one last chance to sell Romeo on how he fits into their program" is pretty telling.
  8. F*** To me that means his decision has pretty much been made already. Doesn't sound good for us. I suppose we still have a chance since he's willing to visit, but I'm going to have to start detaching myself from this recruitment. I think we're about to lose an in-state blue chip guy to f***ing Vanderbilt. Unreal.
  9. I believe the Langfords when they say a decision hasn't been made yet, but it's discouraging to me how he seems to be closer to Darius than any of the other IU recruits.
  10. Well that went about as well as it could have for Vandy, which is unfortunate. Hopefully we get one last time to host him, whether it's for a game or not.
  11. What didn't you like? I wasn't discouraged by that at all actually.
  12. Unfortunately there was a "Romeo Langord" chant a little bit ago. They know he's there.
  13. This Vandy/UF game feels like a weak high school environment. It could probably get better if Vandy was good I suppose. They just look so poorly coached and out of sync.

I just hope we play well and don't have a letdown game. We've made so much progress lately.

Well so much for Purdue having no bad losses. They can probably kiss a #1 seed goodbye, but I guess there's still a lot of bball left to be played. Their resume just isn't that great for a 1 seed.

    Corruption in College Basketball

I agree I think Crean is clean, but I'm still a bit worried about some of his assistants. Chuck Martin was the lead recruiter for John Calipari and recruited Derrick Rose. Kenny Johnson coached at University-6. Nervous, man.

I get the overwhelming feeling that Coach K is going to come down hard. We'll learn the real reason top one-and-done guys started rolling in to Durham, and it wasn't because Duke became "cool again."

    Corruption in College Basketball

Multiple sources who’ve been briefed on the case and are familiar with the material obtained by feds told Yahoo Sports that the impact on the sport will be substantial and relentless. Sitting under protective order right now are the fruits of 330 days of monitoring activity by the feds, which one assistant US Attorney noted Thursday was “a voluminous amount of material.” That includes wiretaps from 4,000 intercepted calls and thousands of documents and bank records obtained from raids and confiscated computers, including those from notorious NBA agent Andy Miller. “This goes a lot deeper in college basketball than four corrupt assistant coaches,” said a source who has been briefed on the details of the case. “When this all comes out, Hall of Fame coaches should be scared, lottery picks won’t be eligible to play and almost half of the 16 teams the NCAA showed on its initial NCAA tournament show this weekend should worry about their appearance being vacated.” Ho. Lee. ***.
  19. Haha well now I'm going to be upset when tomorrow passes and Romeo doesn't commit to IU.
  20. Cool, we obviously want a PG in the 2019 class then. I like it.

Yeah I think at one point they had the 2 worst schedule in the entire country. I think they were 12-1 and are now 15-10, something like that.

    Good fit for Crean imo.
  23. We're replacing Curtis Jones, Robert Johnson, and Josh Newkirk with Robert Phinisee as of now. Per a recent interview, Hunter has already been told he's a 3. The plan may be for Damezi to be a 2 eventually, but he won't be ready next year. We need another guard for shooting, even if we end up getting Romeo. I'd like this pickup a lot.
  24. You are definitely not an alpha. Bank it.

I thought it was ridiculous too until I found out he's a Kentucky native. It's pretty believable.
