I've always been high on De'Ron but it's becoming clearer and clearer that he's not who I thought he'd be. It looked like he'd come in and be a shot blocking machine while averaging well over 10 ppg. He's just so unathletic.

Going to be a lot of empty seats throughout the rest of the season's home games. Probably another home loss to purdoo too. -

Wouldn't matter if the team was nothing but walkons. If they have a Wisconsin jersey on, they're going to kick our @$$. They completely own us. -
(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU

Very true. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'll only get excited about players like Forrester if we were also landing 5 stars. The top-20 players more often than not will make everyone around them better. There's a reason why the senior version of Will Sheehey wasn't nearly the one we were used to when Cody was around. I know Vonleh was here too but there were a ton of things wrong with that particular team. -

Sorry I hate to be negative because I do trust Archie and his vision, but those are the types of guys we've gotten for years here yet we haven't been past the Sweet 16 in 16 years. I'm just getting tired of that being the best thing people can say about a recruit we get, how "we need guys like this to compete for championships". Yeah but we also need 5 stars, and we keep whiffing on them. -
Good for him and I hope it works out. I thought for sure he'd end up at a smaller school on the East coast.

Wow that vaunted 2016 class is falling apart. Mario Kegler last year and Herard this year. Something's up in Starkville.
-
Wow that's surprising. I was watching this game and Stanford looked like they had it sewn up. Also I had no idea Marcus Lee is still playing. I kind of wish he considered us when he transferred.

Vanderbilt lost again.

Looking to 2018-2019 season

Man do we need another guard in the worst way. I really hope we can add Romeo to that position group, as it's not clearly better than many teams in the B1G. -
After seeing Wofford take down UNC, yeah I'll worry about every game. My faith in IU is at an all-time low.

Indiana State and Fort Wayne are a combined 34/54 from 3 against us. That's 63%. On our home court. -

Blown out at home to 2 in-state midmajors. I didn't think this year was going to be THIS down. -

Unreal. Glad I didn't change my schedule around this game. I caught a little of the 2nd half and immediately did something else after seeing us turn the ball over on consecutive plays. Legitimately looked like the whole team smoked a pound of weed before this game or something. -
Just some fun facts on Vanderbilt in mid-December. They're currently 3-7 Have not won a game since November 28 since beating Radford Their FG% is 326th nationally at 40.2% Their 3-point% is 303rd nationally at 30.8% Points scored is 330th nationally Save me the posts calling me bitter and salty, because yeah, I already know.

FINAL : #18 Notre Dame 77 - Indiana 80 | McRoberts & Morgan MVP's
AKHoosier replied to Trish's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This looks like a team that is getting better during a difficult stretch, which is encouraging. I still don't think we end up making the tournament due to our non-conference schedule, but I have faith in Archie making a run in the Big Ten Tournament and getting the auto-bid. Which is crazy to think about as an option based on our history there. -
(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke
AKHoosier replied to goonaha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
That's only 4, 3 of whom are actually on the team. I just disagree, we need at least one other guard in the 2019 class. And if we get Romeo, we'll probably need 2. And judging by Archie's penchant for 3 guard lineups, whether by necessity or desire, I think he'll end up getting another guard. Hopefully we can find a way to get Hurt-TJD-a guard. -

Awesome game. That was such a mentally strong win. To fight back so much, force overtime, and clinch it in OT. I'm headed to a Christmas party with no voice. Should be fun. -

I don't know why, but I have a cautiously optimistic feeling here. I think Archie will put together a good game plan and have us ready to attack Notre Dame. -

Yeah that makes me sick because UL is going to fall a$$ backwards into Billy Donovan and just keep rolling. You know darn well that's what will happen. -
Wisconsin is going to regret not opening up their coaching search to outside applicants. They could have done a lot better than Greg Gard, and they're going to feel it. All he did was win with Bo's players playing Bo's system, but now that most of those guys are trickling out, he's getting exposed.
-
It's all about your good wins. We don't have any, and the B1G season won't even give us many good opportunities for them this year. Outside of MSU and Purdue, the conference is terrible.
-
What do you mean he "believes in good defense?" What coach doesn't? I hate bringing this up, because I like Archie, but look at Dayton's Kenpom defensive rankings under him. You can't look at that data and say he's a good defensive coach, unfortunately. His best defense was in the 40s I think.
