I always felt ESPN could have done a wonderful 30 for 30 on IU basketball under Knight, it's a shame they only focused on that single incident.

Who's Declaring/Transferring Around NCAA 2018
AKHoosier replied to HoosierCoop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah and apparently his mom is posting over on Gold and Black, the Purdue rivals site. It's not going well, to say the least. Her posts sound about as intelligent as Caleb Swanigan. -

Who are you referring to, Moore? -
Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

Morgan, Davis, Forrester, Thompson, and Moore are what we have down low in the front court. With the exception of Morgan, all we have are bodies. Not talent. We need talent. -

I wish he redshirted but I guess that was never an option. I hope he's in the gym for hours a day this summer working on post moves and putting on muscle. He won't be averaging 15 and 9 next year, but if he could at least be good for 8 and 5 per game while not being a liability on defense, that would be respectable. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I know I've said this before, but the impact of Romeo choosing IU is going to be noticeably felt by full seats at Assembly Hall this year. Hoosier Hysteria, Tuesday night non-conference games against Eastern Illinois, and all through the B1G season, I'll bet we don't have too many games with half-full rafters and mostly-empty student sections this coming season. Can't wait. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Looks like Romeo won't play at the Nike Hoop Summit this Friday, due to concussion protocol from his injury this past weekend. -

Am I crazy for not wanting TJD to reclassify? That would be 6 in one class. That's a huge freshman class. -

Amazing how this site is free. I get way better information here than the Rivals site where I pay $10/mo. -

I'm calling it, he'll set up an announcement for next Thursday. -

AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This got me thinking. I know Romeo is "focusing on All-Star games" in the weeks leading up to his decision, but what exactly is there to focus on? These games are worthless. I suppose there's a lot of PR and swag that goes along with appearing in the games though. But still, it all leads up to the play on the court, which is just a joke. -
(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU
AKHoosier replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I agree. Man I want Watford, but the Zags article looks a little suspicious imo. Plus he's also being recruited to Alabama, and it seems like he's basically getting recruited by IU and a bunch of programs who are willing to play the game. Meantime, Watford will have additional home visits soon with LSU, Memphis & Houston, the last one on April 17. -

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
AKHoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yeah that interview sounded pretty positive for IU imo, I'm not sure what other people are freaking out about. Just more pessimists jumping to conclusions I guess. He said more about IU than any of the other 2 schools in that interview, and I feel like his answer was more thought out: "I like coach [Archie] Miller. He gets the best out of his players and he proved that this year. Even though they weren't that good of a team, having the best season, he got them ready for big games like Duke and stuff like that. And then they also got coach [Ed] Schilling. His individual development over the summer with guards, his resume says it all. He sent so many guys to the NBA when he was at UCLA. So those two are reasons I like Indiana." -

Mooney reminds me a bit of Sheehey in attitude and on-court demeanor. He had a welcome swagger, for the first 3 years he was here at least. -

And honestly, at the end of the day, it's just freaking basketball. It's not like anyone is getting hurt or anything. -
(2018) SF - Jerome Hunter Transfers To Xavier
AKHoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I read an interview a while back where Jerome said Archie told him he'll play SF. -
Some good stuff in your post, but this is not one of them. Fans of IU and CBB in general think Assembly Hall is cool for its history. Recruits do not. No matter what they may say to the media, they like newer amenities like updated locker rooms. And I'd be willing to bet it's more like 1% of recruits who don't care about what the locker rooms look like.

Yeah, and it would be a severe kick to the balls if both TJD and Brooks end up at Purdue, after we get Watford. -

Wow if we get Porter and Romeo/Taylor that would be quite an upgrade in talent. Hopefully Archie can make it happen. -

I'm glad it's these two. From the outside looking in, they look like clean programs. -

Kansas fans seem to think both Vick and Newman will be gone, and if that's true, that has to make Kansas even more appealing. I'm fearing them more than Vandy now. They pretty much check all the boxes except for proximity to home. KU will be really good next year. -
Coaches K, Roy and Izzo retire next year who replaces them?

Why? Seems weird to single out one assistant.
