Yeah, which I like. We could all come up with a set of metrics to prove one coach is better than another. I prefer the "gut feel" of attempting to rank coaches while prioritizing their entire careers and current trajectory.
-
Pretty generous ranking honestly, considering he's ranked ahead of Shaheen Holloway, Steve Pikiell, Fred Hoiberg, and Tad Boyle. All of whom are better coaches IMO.

Trent Sisley is an Outstanding Hoosier and (2025) SG - to UConn Thread
AKHoosier replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I think either someone in the Mullins camp told him to be quiet, or he wants to let the kid have his day. Barrel rick is clearly close to this recruitment, and I don't think the fact he's gone silent means our chances are diminishing. JMO. -
Evidently she's holding out until Loyola wins it all.

(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
AKHoosier replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It better be IU, because it would really suck to have him at any of those other schools. -

The fact that Hurley hasn't killed the story or put out a statement makes it seem like he's all but gone. Tough to turn down an opportunity like that, but man I hate that CBB is about lose arguably its best coach. What a kick to the crotch. -

I read on X that he had already moved into the dorms for summer classes at Purdue. If true, that's nuts. -

Got this far and stopped. 90% chance you typed this while wearing an N95 mask on a college campus somewhere. -

"From the river to the sea". That is not a protest against the Israeli government. It's a call for genocide. Protesters were barring a Jewish kid from attending class at UCLA. Don't white knight for these protestors. -

They're at their jobs. Some of these protests are about as organic as the cheese that comes in a spray can. -

I actually haven't seen the photo, just the video. I hope it embeds correctly. https://twitter.com/togdali/status/1783654267041005923?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1783654267041005923|twgr^|twcon^s1_&ref_url= -

Anyone see the video of a police sniper on the roof of an IU building? Saw it on X this morning. It looked like Ballantine Hall, not 100% sure though. -

Yeah I don't disagree with most of this. Honestly my wife and I don't even agree on everything I'm referring to. But I still want to be the ones who cover certain topics with our kids so we can both share our input, provide context, etc. Like someone said earlier, things get baked into school curriculum (NOT all) nowadays to the point where a controversial topic isn't even identified as a sensitive issue or an opinion. Rather, it's forced into establishing it as fact. It's designed with the intent to make up a child's mind without them even realizing it. Sadly, I no longer have full trust in curriculum whether it's in daycare, elementary school, etc. -

Definitely. And look, I'm not going to provide examples, because we all know what the hot button issues are today. Plus it would derail the thread further and make things more heated than they already are. But your last sentence is most poignant. Since we can't all have it our own way, just let schools educate children to teach them skills, and let parents be the ones to instill values. -

Of course that's an option, but that's not the point. I have a kid who is in the care of others for the day. In a few years it will be school. I'm well aware I can leave the daycare if I want, but didn't feel it was necessary. But once it comes across my door when he is in school, likely public school, then what are my options? I'm supposed to up and leave, and find another public school? Rather than make my concerns known? I definitely am not the type to go looking for a battle, but feel strongly about what is acceptable and what is not for kids to learn about at school/daycare. I will add after seeing how some school districts handled Covid, and knowing what's being taught in some schools, homeschooling is becoming an increasingly appealing option. I never thought I'd say that. -

My point is that I've only had a kid in daycare for a year, and already I've had issues with people who are responsible for my son's welfare 7 hours a day. I can't imagine what it will be like when he's in school in 5 years if people don't push back. Someone who has 30+ experience, respectfully, that doesn't mean anything to me. The stuff being passed off as education today would never have made it into the classroom in the 1990s and 2000s. Things have only hit the fan in the last ~5 years IMO. -

Yeah that's ridiculous. You can't claim to have a firm grasp on every rural district in Indiana, or anywhere. You can only speak to your experience. I've had a kid in daycare for about a year now, and have already had to fight battles regarding some of the extreme curriculum and "values" taught to kids who are barely walking. Stuff that would be downright shocking to anyone with a pulse even 10 years ago. Trust me. If it's happening here, it's happening everywhere. -
We win the offseason again. I'm not at all convinced this is a tournament team. Ballo raises our floor, but he is not an upgrade over Ware. Plus those FT shooting numbers will cost us late in some games. We've done nothing to fix our most glaring issue, which is shooting. I don't want to hear people telling me how excited I should be about adding guys who shot 30% from 3 last year. That doesn't mean the issue has been solved, it means the jury is still out. I do like Rice. We needed Conwell though. Mgbako is a big key for next year. If he picks up where we left off, we could be very solid.

AKHoosier replied to HoosierHoopster's topic in Off Topic Forum
You literally just posted political BS. Those are political issues that have nothing to do with the education of college students. If you know more than what you're letting on, I think we would all appreciate it you shared it instead of the constant "trust me, I know but can't share" type of response. But what you chose to copy from the IDS article implies that is what this is about, most of which is purely political. -

Very well said. If the IDS article is any indication of the rift between faculty and Whitten, it only makes it sound like the IU faculty are more interested in pushing their political views than educating college students. Only confirms my support of Whitten. -

I wonder how this affects McNeeley since he's still undecided. Also, can't Hunter Dickinson come back for another year?

I like the maxim about the truth being somewhere in the middle. However, I can't help but feel like I should side with President Whitten in this. There isn't a more self-righteous, entitled group of people on the planet than college professors. -

I hope we add Essegian. There's enough talent there for him to help us in a reserve role playing 12-15 minutes per game. He's better than Leal IMO. -

There is no way I believe that. Taking nothing from them as I believe they are good players, but best in the country?
