That means nothing.

Thanks, I'm not doubting he was pulled in at some point. Obviously that would have to happen. The part I quoted is more what I'm referring to, similar to how the SEC added OU and UT. If 2 schools of that magnitude approach you about joining, all you have to do is say yes and convince the rest of the conference to do the same. Easier sell than if Washington State and Oregon State approached.
-
Highly doubt it. Silicon Valley doesn't care about Stanford athletics all that much. They don't have a huge national following either. Stanford doesn't add much outside of academics.
-
I could very well be wrong, as I'm sure not enough information is out yet and I'd have to dig to find the tweet I saw yesterday. But yes, USC and UCLA were collaborating with one another and approached the B1G about joining. Obviously at some point Warren and the chancellors decided they couldn't say no to that, and I don't blame them. It just wasn't some masterful job on Warren's part to bring the 2 schools to the table.
-
Pretty sure I read that Kevin Warren was completely blindsided by this, as were the B1G chancellors. That numbskull just fell @$$-backwards into 2 of the most prestigious college athletics programs in the country.
-
I'd bet lots of money the B1G makes a play for 2 more to get to 18 now, and they come from Washington, Colorado, or Oregon. I find it hard to believe USC/UCLA make this move knowing their closest road game would be 1500 miles away in Lincoln, NE. They likely already had reason to believe other Pac 12 schools would get an invite too.
-
So we don't even get Pac12 beach volleyball girls? Then what's this all for?
-
We're clearly headed for 2 superconferences: the B1G and the SEC. College sports will be completely unrecognizable in less than 10 years.
-
Definitely feels like we're becoming one of the big boys again!

Otherwise known as the "Brad Davison Rule"

Safe to say his career has not gone as he (or his dad) had envisioned. Hope it works out for him. I doubt it would have gone much better for him here, but I can't help but wonder if the constant threat of 5 star one-and-done kids at UK just was too much for him to get comfortable and find a groove.

Huge news on a Friday! This team is capable of winning it all. Prove me wrong.

It'll be tough to get three 5 star players from Montverde, and I doubt it happens. You never know what can happen though. Few would have ever expected us to land Malik Reneau after he committed and signed to Florida. -
I loved the idea until I read this: The matchups would be decided by an algorithm that would ensure the best teams play the best teams. The games wouldn't be determined until the end of January. Why does an algorithm need to decide this? Can't we just figure out a way for nonconference matchups to happen for a 5 day span in early February?
-
Couldn't it have the opposite effect? Bacot and Tshiebwe are 2 less bigs that would have potentially been taken ahead of TJD now.
-
Freaking WOW. What I love is this kid is a skilled basketball player with tremendous footwork and ability to finish around the rim, not just a crazy athletic guy playing basketball they attached a 5 star ranking to. Feels good to win these!

I still remember the 2014 class when Peegs was floating the idea of a potentially monster class with Blackmon, Trey Lyles, Theo Pinson, and Cliff Alexander. We all know how that turned out. That's when I realized recruiting is never as good or bad as you think it'll be.
-
I'd rather get funky and go with XJ, JHS, Bates, Geronimo at the 4, and TJD at the 5. First off the bench are Race and Galloway.
-
And yet our defense was still #24 nationally at the end of the year. Defense is not a weakness. Shooting is.
-
Do we need another Galloway? I'm trying to see how this one makes sense. He seems like the type you add if you have starting guards that are both shooting 40%+ from 3 and you're trying to shore up some defense. I'm sure he can be a good player and contributor on a good team, just not at IU right now.

Not sure, seems like Izzo but that's based on virtually nothing. -

I'm seeing rumors he's all bit sealed to a particular school, not sure where or how true they are though. Apparently we've reached out. -

Not the end of the world then, I think we can find a better fit imo. -
