Just end this Dolson. Fire him now.

IUBB vs Nebraska- Wednesday 2-21-24 8:30 PM BTN

My Lord that sequence was awful. Was that supposed to be an alley oop to Gunn, and he missed twice? -
Looks like a lot of empty seats tonight in Assembly Hall. People know this team has no hope.

2023-24 Prediction League - Game 26 vs Nebraska Wed 2/21/24 8:30pm BTN

IU 71 Nebraska 66 -
Well I will definitely never root for IU to lose. I also don't have to root FOR us. My apathy kicked in a while ago resulting in not knowing or caring when the next game is. That said, please don't get my hopes up.

(2024) PF - Derik Queen to Maryland
AKHoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Woodson's on his way to achieving his ultimate goal of installing the "1 out, 4 in" offense. -
Don't forget CJ Gunn too. People said not to worry because a career 10% 3-pt FG shooter was just ready to break out.

Another one that could have been won by winning. -
We are one day closer to the end of the Mike Woodson era.

Next year has 18-13 and an NIT flameout written all over it. Glad we can pad some guys' retirement accounts a little more though.
-
Yeah I completely disagree. You fix all those problems by locking in and not resting until you have a solution. Woodson is still a very unproven college coach, and kicking his feet up after yet another home loss to NW (if true he was knee deep in wine and cigars) doesn't send a very good message to the fans, but far importantly, his own team. It says to me he has neither the energy nor the desire to fix anything, and at worst he doesn't possess the wherewithal to identify that a problem even exists.

And I'd bet he went right to watching the NBA All Star game festivities. His mind is still in the NBA. Outside of IU I would seriously doubt he watches much college basketball at all. After a win, it wouldn't bother me if he chose to relax for the evening. But we didn't win, so maybe try to figure out why Northwestern keeps kicking your a$$.

Just food for thought is that following the first year Butler went to the Final 4, in the 2010/2011 season they went on a 3 game losing streak to Milwaukee, Valpo, and Youngstown State which brought their record to 14-9. They lost 4 out of 5 games amidst that stretch, with Brad Stevens coaching the returning starters from the previous season's Final 4 team. Anyone want to turn down Stevens with that knowledge?

So is Dane Fife totally never an option to be on an IU sideline ever again? As long as he's on board with NIL, I like the idea of him being on Dusty May's staff here to coach the defense. Our defense has gotten progressively worse since he left after the first year and I wonder if that isn't a coincidence.

I'm hoping if we lose at home to Nebraska on Wednesday then Woodson announces his retirement by the end of the week. It's not happening, but all I have is hope right now.

Auburn clearly rattled tonight by all the "Pearl to IU" smoke. Feels like it's just a matter of time now.
-
Feels like they'll be due for a "get right" game when they stroll in to Bloomington.
-
Good Lord. This makes me very excited but at the same annoyed if the IU administration never reached out to him in the past.
-
Ha I was thinking this is a great way to ensure he hits 3s in Assembly Hall next year. For the record I wouldn't hold it against him at all. He's from that area and they have it together more than we do right now.
-
So Trey Galloway is probably going to Purdue then. That would be a colossal kick to the nuts.
-
Don't get me wrong I'd be super excited about Bruce Pearl, but I ultimately feel like the timing with him has passed us by. He could probably give us 5-7 good years though, so it might be worth taking that shot.

Figured we had an early and unexpected entry into the portal with all the sudden activity in this thread.
-
I don't see the post about IU putting out feelers on Trilly's Twitter account. Maybe it's somewhere else?
-
IU athletic department and administration has to be a bit rattled right now. My guess is they're hoping and praying Woodson can finish the season 5-2 or better so some of the pressure dies down. Man if we get blasted at home by NW this weekend I don't see Woodson recovering from that.

Yeah hoping that a team is going to change after 24 games into the season is just like hoping a 66 year old coach is going to suddenly change the way he constructs a team and implements his playing style. Not happening.
