Most people in this thread have a starting lineup that is way too similar to last year. We can't have another season of Troy at the 4 with three guards and a freshman playing center. Crean just needs to figure out how to play big. Playing big = better defense. Figure out how to use Hanner at the 4. Yogi Blackmon Troy Hanner Bryant That gives us 3 guys who can create their own shot and are high percentage shooters. Also, the rebounding with that starting lineup should be exceptional, and probably lead the conference.

Some interesting information in there actually. That's enough for me to be slightly excited about something that may have a chance at happening no sooner than a year from now!

Wow, I had no idea Malachi wore that during his visit. Haha I really wanted him too.

Getting Bryant would go a long way in getting Thon Maker. No way Thon wants to go to a place where he'd have to guard 7'0" guys by himself. He's a big guy but doesn't want to be the "big guy" on a team. Having Hanner, Bryant, and Thon down low would be huge, literally and figuratively.

I just watched the 1993 IU at Michigan game where we went up and beat the Fab 5 in their own building. My Lord, that was some beautiful basketball. Damon Bailey, Alan Henderson, Matt Nover, Calbert Cheaney, Brian Evans, practically the whole damn team was from Indiana. I think we had like 6 turnovers the whole game. Beautiful spacing and movement. Just so well played, and it made me realize something: we are so far from where we need to be.

Nebraska people on TOS say he's got some Rick Pitino in him. Apparently he's been sleeping around with a side piece.
-
Anyone been hearing rumors about Tim Miles?

I don't know, that's too much like this year's team for my liking. I'd rather go: Yogi Blackmon or Johnson Williams Perea Bryant Enough of this small ball. Crean has to figure out how to use two big guys on the court at once. 3 guys who can score and create their own shot are all you need, and combine them with two bigs who can rebound and defend well should be a recipe for great success. I don't care if Hanner isn't a strech 4, he's a power forward at any other school. I mean for God's sakes, every one of the guys in our starting lineup would be a top 50 player, with 3 McDonald's All Americans. That roster should be able to sleepwalk to 25 wins and a Sweet 16.

The tournament is just such a beast, that's all it comes down to sometimes. It's all about matchups and some teams just have an easier road than others. There's no shame in losing to that Wisconsin team 2 years in a row. It's not like they got destroyed by 20+ points or anything.
-
I kinda like Robert better to be honest.
-
I don't think Gonzaga or Duke would beat UK, so it's Wisconsin or bust now. Come on you damn Badgers.
-
ugh, Notre Dame was just one or two shots away from really cracking that game open when it was a 6 point lead. So annoying, would have been so fitting to see them lose on a last second 3.
-
Referees really stepping it up for UK tonight.
-
lol, Dakari Johnson didn't get a piece of his wrist. He got the whole damn thing.
-
Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame will be a great Final 4 matchup! (Don't worry I knocked on wood).

If we land him and all meaningful contributors return, we could actually be really, really good next year. And if somehow we get Thon Maker, that would just catapult us to B1G favorites in my opinion. There wouldn't be any reason those players couldn't win the conference or make a deep tournament run.

Yikes, I don't know if I'm misinterpreting her tone, but that sounds pretty sarcastic to me. I agree with it though, I don't like the excuse of "the roster just works itself out." That's such a cop out, it's basically saying that other people work it out for you and you just think it works itself out.

Tom Crean Update from Fred Glass
AKHoosier replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Honestly, all the anti-Crean people should be encouraged by that statement. That was a non-update if there ever was one. He put something out at 5:00 on a Friday night that did nothing but reiterate what he said a month ago. IMO this looks like it was meant to appease certain coaches out there who would have an interest an IU if there was an opening. An opening not created by a firing. Just let it all play out. -
He actually is. Dan Hurley is Bobby Hurley's younger brother, and he's the coach of the University of Rhode Island.
-
Kentucky is in the double bonus with 9 minutes left in the first half. ND doesn't stand a chance.
-
I'd rather he wins and leaves, then his daughter and I get naked.

At this point, I think Yogi and Troy return, we add Thomas Bryant, and Crean stays put. If that happens, I want Crean to stop forcing players to fit his style, and make his style fit his players by starting: Yogi Blackmon Troy Hanner Bryant Enough of this "small ball" crap that won't win.
-
Yeah I saw that too. Maybe that coincides with what that NeverDaunted twitter guy posted on Friday, and there will be some kind of announcement tomorrow. I doubt it though.

See I've never put much stock into the in-state recruiting being down. Yeah we've missed on some guys, but he landed Yogi Ferrell and Cody Zeller when we were down, and fended off North Carolina, Kentucky, and Michigan for James Blackmon. That's 3 McDonald's All-Americans from in-state over the last 4 years. That's pretty good, and Crean deserves all the praise and credit for that. He worked his a$$ off to land them.

The tournament is always more fun when teams you hate get bounced early. Thank you, Cincinnati. Let's go Hampton!
