Indiana won't be Indiana until it wants to be Indiana
Uspshoosier replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
i hope you are wrong my fellow hoosier basketball fan It doesn't good now but hopefully things will change If my kids grow up to become Iu fans (like they have a choice) I want them to experience Iu basketball like I did in the 80s and early 90s. A lot of work ahead for this program in all areas but I think we can get there again -

hasnt Indiana been bringing a pop gun team to the tourney since 1995? I'm not sure its a crean problem as much as a Indiana program problem. Just take a look at the results in the tourney since 95 (outside the run in 02) regardless of who's coaching we expect better results -

For some of the older posters( I'm 36) when did Indiana stop being the indiana program you grew up with? No matter what happens with the program moving forward indiana will always be special to me (that's the way it is in this state passed on from dads to sons) my 3 year old wears is candy stripes and says go Iu , yogi for 3, purdue and Illini blah. The moment for me that I realized our program was heading in a downward trend was when we lost 2 straight years by 20 Pts to Pepperdine and St. John's I feel This program will get back to a form of its oldself, selfishly because I want my kid to feel the joys watching an Iu team compete at the highest level. I have found having a 3 year old pat u on the back and say it's ok dad Iu will win another day helps soften a loss as I get older -

depends on your definition of embarrassed. 2012 mich st scored 44 Pts and lost by 13. Any 1 seed losing in 2nd round to a mid major might be concidered embarrassing by some. I just call it getting upset in a win or go home game -

2010-#1 kansas loses #9 no Iowa second round. #1syracuse loses 5 butler. Sweet 16. 2011- 1duke loses 5 Arizona (beat 8 Michigan by 2 in second rd) 1 Pittsburgh loses 8 butler second rd 2012- 1 Michigan st loses 4 Louisville sweet 16 2013- 1 gonzaga loses 9 Wichita st 2nd rd 1 Kansas loses 4 Michigan sweet 16 1indiana loses 4 Syracuse sweet 16 2014- 1virginia loses 4 mich st sweet 16 1 whicita st loses 8 kentucky 2nd rd. the reason we lost was because we played bad in a single elimination tourney just like what happens every year in March. This is why March madness is the greatest sporting event (imo unless it's your team getting upset) -

that could be but the second game was a new season and different team. It's not like they beat the same team twice that year (wisky did that) -

They were 7-1 (reg season) against ap top 25 that year actually they had to beat the little dogs 4 of their 7 losses were to non-ranked opponents -

Can people give syracuse credit in what they did defensively in that tournament or not? They lost 4 of 5 going into the tourney and turn things around Teams scored 34, 60,50, and 39 Pts in their 4 games getting to the final 4. I expected us to win and was disappointed when we didn't. better teams losing happens all the time in March it just hurt Iu fans (at least me) more because we hadn't been in that situation in such a long time -

[quote name="southernindianahoosier" post="133684" timestamp="1423231176"] But with IU v. Syracuse, he was blown out by them twice in the same year. The excuses some people make for that game: "it was a matchup nightmare, hulls was hurt, and on and on"... Give it up. It was 90% Crean's fault.[/quote they didn't play Syracuse 2 times that year we played them again with last years team at the carrier dome still a beat down -

. That's why I said gotta love what ifs. Unfortunately we ran into a team in the BTT that we have had trouble beating (12 straight at that point?). 2 of that teams 7 losses was to wisky -

That Syracuse team screwd us twice that year. The first was when they blew a 20 second half lead to Louisville in big east championship game if Louisville loses that game (gotta love what ifs) we play r sweet 16 game in indy. Syracuse got hot at the right time, if u don't remember look what that defense did to the Marquette team in elite 8 -
Georgetown loses couldn't inbounds a pass with 10 secs to go and end up losing at home

Louisville was the number 1 overall that's why they were put in the Midwest bracket -

Kansas will be a tough out in March. I bet they wouldn't lose to kentucky by 30 now
-
. Hopefully the ring would be bigger then kentucky elite 8 rings they got when they lost to West Virginia in 2010
