Quality Young Coaches vs Tom Crean.
Uspshoosier replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
you might be right but man I could get used to being 24th in turnover percentage per pocessions and 2nd in defensive points per game It will be interesting to see if his style changes now that he is successful and will be bringing in higher level talent. I think I could live with 71 points per game if we only gave up 59 -

have you watched Virginia play a lot? From the games I have watched it seems to me they have no problem running and playing fast when they have to. Bo Ryan went to back to back final 4 with his system and if you think the reason they lost the national championship game because of the style of basketball they play I can't help you. There have been articles written that to be a national title contender you have to at least have a top 25 offense and defense. Bennetts last 3 years. 2014- off 21, def-5, 2015-off-24, def-1, 2016- off-12, def-9. Yea please sign me up -

I will take a coach with a the 12th adjusted offense and the 9th adjusted defense anyday regardless of what style they play but that just me -

a lot of time has past since that happened. A chance to bring glory back to a historically blue blood program and more money could be reasons for him to come. I personally would love him as coach -

your forgot your sarcasm font. If you really think iu isn't still considered a top 10 coaching destination in college basketball then I would suggest to research it a little more -

When a change is made and if it is not BS, then I hope they make a run at Tony Bennett again. He is 46 and in my opinion is one of the best coaches in the game today. I would like to see him have more sucess in the NCAA tournament maybe that will be this year. If I need to get my fix to watch fundamental basketball on both sides of the ball I will watch Virginia -
he only pounded vitto Browns head into the court. I wonder if they would of suspended him if they were not playing Minnesota http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14773536

@jerrymeyer Like Indiana's chances but a Kentucky offer would shake things up a good bit. 247sports.com/Player/Paul-Sc… -

on a side note I really like that Oregon team even with the bad trip they just had to the Bay Area. Altman is very underrated coach in my opinion. Oregon and iu have one thing in common this year. A neutral site loss to Unlv -
(2016/17) PG Markus Howard to Marquette

khalil Felder is only a junior. It would be nice if he would consider being a grad transfer to play at a higher level conference. I haven't seen a lot of new news about Howard reclassifing so as of now the abundance of guards we have for next year shouldn't effect his decision -

they should have a good test Friday when they play Oakland who took Michigan st to overtime. That game will be on Friday on espnu if you want to check them out. I believe offensive and defensive adjusted efficiency numbers are a good guideline to start and I believe in those numbers I also like to use the "eye test" when reviewing teams productivity. Some might say I have a slight madness when it comes to watching college basketball. I will watch Oakland play wright st if it's the only game on ( they are on espnu right now). having said all this about Valpo and needed to proof it against better competition, from what I've seen in my opinion I think they are a good defensive team but like you said their struggles are on the offensive side of things. If you watched the end of the Oregon game then you would have had to watch it on the pac 12 network because that was the only channel it was on. That might let you separate it from other oregon games -

i guess watching them lose 4 of 5 games might have left a negative image of Valpo. Granted I didn't watch them play northern Kentucky and uic where they only allowed 45 points I only watch them give up 70 plus to Oregon, Belmont, and wright st -

I have watched them several times. It's hard to gauge how those numbers would stack up playing better competition. 13 of there 19 wins are against teams with a +150 rpi. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/teamId/2674 -

i will give you the first 2 years but the 3rd year is a stretch. They just flat out underachieved

while that may be true I was just pointing out the brand name and "it's Indiana look" has not quickly been lost in these last 8 years but as a program, whoever u want to put it on bad hires or what not the "it's Indiana" feel has slowly lost its appeal with each passing year that th wrong person has been in charge. This is an Indiana program problem not just a coaching problem. Until the upper administration want to make that statement it's Indiana mean something again as of now that phrase is "it was indiana".

we have slowly lost our it's Indiana look over the last 20 years but that's just my opinion feel free to look up tournament results from the last 20 years( besides our run in 2002 where we beat 3 double digit seeds and by tounament Magic beat Duke) those back to back sweet 16 do not look so bad. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/tournament/history/_/team1/6221

If we lose at Iowa, do we dance?
Uspshoosier replied to Bittersince87's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
4 top 50 rpi wins and 3 other top 100 wins. Not a lot of teams on the bubble will have 4 top 50 rpi wins. Losing at Iowa will not keep this team from dancing however losing 5 of 6 will make it interesting. Beating Michigan a top 50 rpi team on the road would be considered a good win.
