State of Recruiting/Do Rankings Matter?
Uspshoosier replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaab/eye-on-college-basketball/25405785/oklahomas-lon-kruger-continues-to-be-one-of-basketballs-best-head-coaches Interesting article on Lon Kruger and what he has done with his last 4 recruiting classes. Personally it is refreshing to see programs succeed while not having to recruit the one and done method. I'm not saying one way is better then the other I just thought some of you might enjoy this article -
as long as it's bill self (he grew up in Oklahoma and went to Oklahoma st)
-
agree I wouldn't bet against Kansas winning it again but I think Oklahoma has the experience and pieces to contend this year
-
they were taking contested 3 after contested 3. Oklahoma will challenge Kansas for the big 12 this year. Oklahoma is a legitimant final 4 contender
-
looks like I was wrong Oklahoma just smashed Villanova by over 20
-
Oklahoma vs Villanova should be a good game tonight.

vandy still has to play Dayton and Purdue. Tough non conference schedule. No shame in losing a true road game to a top 25 team with a chance to win at the end
-
Melvin Johnson is in a zone for vcu. He is single handily keeping this game close Vcu still loses but Johnson hit 7 threes in the second half

(2016) SG Grant Gelon commits to IU
Uspshoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I hope he does that next Saturday at southport when I'm in attendance -
certain players leave the program( Ronnie Johnson) and ever since Purdue has been better. Good for painter recognizing certain players were not buying in and changing the culture

https://www.sny.tv/college-recruiting/news/thon-maker-could-wait-until-august-for-decision-on-future/158930614?tcid=tw_article_158930614 Looks like he is going to wait and see how things turn out in iu

my question would be should a team with 3 McDonald's all Americans and a player projected as a possible 1st rounder in a draft be unranked?

(2016) SG Grant Gelon commits to IU
Uspshoosier replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
https://twitter.com/bsnowscout/status/672815249981112320 A chance for people around the Indy area to check out Grant at southport gym next Saturday at 1:15. I'm thinking of taking the family and heading there and watching him -
so in your opinion in the history of college basketball no amateur player should be held accountable for their actions off the court or their actions on the court because the coach should hold them accountable and is to blame. Like pap I can't believe I'm defending a person I think should coach at a lower level program but in my opinion the blame should be equally on all parties involved. In my opinion the difference between players today at some programs compared to players in the past are they don't hold themselves accountable and take ownership for their own actions like they have in the past. Maybe it's a generation thing

i also love after the game knights smart ass reply to packer about the game winning tip-in

i love watching old iu games. My iu tradition is before the start of every college basketball season I break out the vcr tapes and watch iu's 6 games in the 1987 tournament. even though I know the outcome that Lsu game to get to the final 4 makes me nervous
-
Crazy finish in butler game. Austin with baseball full length pass to jones for a game winning layup
-
Danny granger is a college basketball studio analyst on cbssports network. You can tell he is nervous as heck. I always liked him and hope has success in his new job

those might look like bad loses now but if those teams are in the top 100 rpi at end of the season those loses won't be bad loses according to the committee ( I still think they r bad loses just like e Washington last year rpi top 100 loss ). At the end of the day we r going to need to beat top level teams at some point in the schedule whether out of conference or in conference to build a resume.
-
i hear you but until the committee uses ken Pom, the rpi number is the only one that counts when it comes to comparing resumes to make the tournament
