(2016/17) PG Markus Howard to Marquette
Uspshoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
got to like are chances here if you look at it closer. He decommitted from herb sendek and Arizona st back in March. Odds usually say they won't recommit ( I know Blackmon), Central Arkansas is probably a weekend to hang out with his brother on the universities dime. He will be on his visit at iu during a rivalry game, regardless of if we win the atmosphere will be insane. The Baylor and Marquette visit will come after that experience and I'm not sure they would compare. I see this as a 2 horse race between Arizona state and us. Hopefully his dad is in his ear to follow in his dad's footsteps and attend IU. Plus the reclassifying talk makes sense for him to come in a fill a big need for iu next year -

his brother is the leading scorer on the team I believe -
http://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaab/bracketology Here is another bracketology by Jerry Palm who has us in the first 4 out category. I like comparing all of the available bracketologist just to see how different each evaluates a resume

@JayBilas Tomorrow's game v. LSU, Ben Simmons (9pm ESPN) will be first time Kentucky has faced the #1 overall recruit since Harrison Barnes, UNC.

Im excited for the big boy matchup tonight with Oklahoma at Kansas. This is a must watch for hoops junkies. i love the fact that these 2 teams are top 5 and have gone about it different ways. Kansas has so much talent that they can afford to play 2 five star kids just 10 min each and still smack Baylor around. They have developed talent over 4 years as well (Ellis and mason) but most recognize Kansas with 5 star players. Oklahoma on the other hand has gotten to be top 5 without a single starter that was a top 100 recruit. Kruger has done an excellent job developing players (so has self). Oklahoma has the seniors you see at mid major schools that make a run in the tourney. I think Kansas wins at home but hopefully it will be close.

should make for a fantastic march madness I can't wait

Colorado wins an entertaining game at Stanford. Colorado is an under the radar team that people might not know about. Only losses are on road to Iowa st, smu, and California

@JonRothstein Not sure if I've ever seen a season where rankings are more meaningless in college basketball. Polls will fluctuate all season long. I was saying in another thread I didn't think there was much separation between teams in 15-40 range. Looks like Jon agrees

Indiana @ Nebraska - Post-game thread - 1/2
Uspshoosier replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
the next 7 games are extremely important in my opinion for us to start building a resume. If you are a ken Pom guy 4 of the next 7 are against ken Pom top 62 teams and another agaisnt Illinois (122). The 2 Minnesota games are must wins to avoid a bad loss( and to gain another road win). If u are an rpi guy( not enough data for it to be used yet) , which the committee will use 5 of the next 7 games are against too 100 teams (Illinois in top 100) -

if that happen at least you would be watching a top 15 team -

in my opinion there is not that much separation from teams ranked from 15 through 40. Most teams that fall in this category have flaws they need to improve. If iu was to win the next 7 games like he pointed out then it would not be a stretch to see them in the top 15-25. For me I'm not concerned with what ranking is beside the name I'm more concerned about the team improving as the season moves on. The one ranking I do look forward to is the one at the end of the year when the committee shows their s-curve seed ranking ( ranking the teams in the tounament 1-68) -
@dandakich Coach Knight used to read letters/telegrams to us from people all over the state explaining that "These are the people we represent" 1/2 So assuming Coach Knight really felt that way I'm guessing he will be there.. I put this in this thread because I'm sure it's the most viewed

@JonRothstein Indiana has a combined 37 turnovers in its first two Big Ten games. Hoosiers need to take better care of the ball. Averaging 15 TPG. #iubb

Oklahoma and Iowa st in a good one. Oklahoma has been down most of the game but are up 4 with 4 minutes to play
-
they have beaten Vanderbilt (ken Pom 17), Florida (ken Pom 24), and Pittsburg ( ken Pom 26 on the road) but I agree they still suck

While I was at the forum tipoff classic at southport I went up and talked to Fran before the Fort Wayne Snyder game ( Fran was tracking Malik Williams) I wished him luck in the B1G and asked how he liked his team heading into the conference season. I told him I thought they were underrated compared to the rest of the upper tier teams, he smiled and said he loved the toughness of this years team and didn't mind being overlooked. His team showed toughness today. I will root for them a little more this year when we are not playing them just because he took took time out of his day to talk some college and high school basketball with a Hoosier fan

This is where Iowa lost to iowa st. They couldn't inbounds the ball in the last minute. Let's see if they have learned from their past mistakes
-
14th in ken Pom
-
Iowa is legit they beat Michigan st, should of beat Iowa st on the road ( had a 20 pt lead in 2nd half) and have came back from a 19 pt deficit to Purdue on the road and have a chance to close it out for a huge road win
-
Iowa up 6 with 2:20 to go and have the ball
