lol weak big 10, that year was considered one of the stronger years for the big 10. Since the big 10's 5th place team was national runner up to Louisville that year. I have no problem saying iu faded down the stretch that year but to say the big 10 was weak that year is a head scratcher in my opinion

Indiana v. Minnesota - Post Game Thread
Uspshoosier replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think that just shows the 2 teams are pretty evenly matched. michigan at least has had a chance to play the top teams in the big 10 so by default you would have to take their win against Maryland over our win against wisky. its not iu's fault the big 10 decided to back load our schedule. this terrible Minnesota team gave both teams a challenge on their respective home floors. Michigan won by 5 and we won by 6. I'm excited to see this team get a chance to improve their resume and seeding with the upcoming schedule. No place to hide 6 of the last 9 against rpi top 30 teams. These are the games we as fans should want to see -

maybe he was comparing top 100 wins. They are 2-5 against the rpi top 100 http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/teamId/130 We are 5-3 against rpi top 100 with another loss to Unlv (107) http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/teamId/84 -

illinois and that was a terrible last play of regulation

@gregrosenstein Maryland fans are brutal. Though I'm guessing they treat in-state opponents differently. Nice jab to Albers

wisconsin will get them I think and maybe Minnesota ( throw the records out in a rivalry game)

@jonrothstein Tonight features a LOADED slate of games in CBB. Feels like championship week in late January. If you're a junkie then today is a great day.

usc beat them at home and then they played them in s pre season tournament that's why they played them 2. we can just disagree on part of this because I don't care where a team plays in conference if a team is good then they are good. We lost last year to MVC team in the tounament. Since whicita st played in MVC should they be considered a bad loss. Momouth also lost to army on the road this year as well. A bad loss to me is any team with an rpi over 100. Our loss to Unlv was a worst loss the losing to momouth or a loss to Oklahoma st would be a worst resume lost then losing to momouth. But this is just my opinion, If we would of loss to them on a neutral court my knee jerk reaction would of course been it's a bad loss but if they turned out to be a top 30 or 40 rpi team I would reevaluate the situation. Kind of like last year when we lost to eastern Washington but they turned out to be a solid team ( still shouldn't of lost at home but i think you get my point)

IU vs Wisconsin Post Game Thread

some players are just not ready for the moment or bright lights that come on the road. That's not limited to iu players. There are kids that in warmups and practice light it up and can't miss but then get in a game and can't hit anything. Being able to do it on the road is what separates the good ones from th great ones. There might of been a reason why zeiloft was at Illinois st. To give an example of a high rates player, luke kennard from Duke was known as the best shooter coming out of high school last year but early on and even today he isn't shooting lights out like many expected ( except for that 31 pt night) That's not to say he won't as he gets older just not ready for the bright lights just yet -

unless you are one of the top 8 teams road wins are going to be a battle. Even those teams struggle. Kansas got blasted by Oklahoma state the other night, Oklahoma state then followed that up by getting smacked around be Kansas st. I was just glad that iu showed little fight and didn't fold in the 2nd half like they did at Duke. On top of all the stupid turnovers and not being able to guard Hayes without fouling this team found a way to have a chance to win with the ball in yogi's hand. -

if yogi would of hit that shot would we have passed the quiz? Crazy to think if yogi hits that shot people would probably forget how bad we played and take a road win like melo and Maryland did but missing it and the team fails a quiz. I have seen other people call Wisconsin mediocre on here so I didn't quote you bailey to call you out just wanted to dig deeper into Wisconsin season. If people are comparing wisky's team to the last 2 seasons then of course they look mediocre. Wisky went on a historic 2 year run for their program. They lost 4 key players from those teams. They were 11-9 going into our game, would 13-7 of looked better? I think at the beginning of the year Hayes was figuring out how to play as the number 1 option instead of the 3 or 4 option on those stacked teams. I'm a believer that teams can and do get better as the year goes on ( if you only watch iu you might not be used to this). Can a team that was mediocre at the beginning of the year and played the 6th hardest schedule get better? They are 1-2 against rpi top 25, 2-2 agaisnt rpi 26-50, and 3-1 agaisnt rpi 51-100. if u have a 6th strength of schedule you better win all your easy games at home and they didn't and dug themselves a hole to make the tournament. I guess my point is the margin of error is small in basketball, 11-9 could of easily been 13-7 or 14-6. Sorry for the rant I just think they were a better team then some want to admit -
OG vs Troy - Who Should Start
Uspshoosier replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
i thought he fouled out in ot. He was still in the game with a minute to go. Just watched on dvr but didn't extend past 2 hrs so didn't record last minute and ot. Regardless foul one of the guys that hadn't scored yet. Only 5 kids scored for Wisconsin. -
OG vs Troy - Who Should Start
Uspshoosier replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
this is probably why I would never be a coach but at the end I would if almost fouled showater just to to put someone on the line that had not done anything and hadn't shot a foul shot. Everyone knew it was going to go to Hayes and we couldn't guard him without fouling the whole night. At least if you choose to foul zac it's on your terms and you still have 9 secs to win the game. Easy to say now though -
momouth isn't a bad loss. They have a rpi of 37 ( 5 spots better than iu ). They beat ucla on the road and USC on a neutral court along with their win against notre dame. They also have 3 bad losses to sub 200 rpi teams. Most of those experts have them in the field as an at -large team. I've seen about 6 times this year and they are a good not great team. Their bench gets more publicity then their team on the court which is too bad
