He has also brought in top 50 players that have turned out to be duds. After the top 20 players in each class it's really a crap shoot sometimes. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Wouldn't that depend on who was coming back? We could of also gotten all of the recruits and still not be very good next year. Lsu got the number 1 recruit and had a couple of top 10 classes and they still missed the tourney just like we did when we had a top 5 class. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Not necessarily worse just a recruitment that none of the "experts" had a good read on up until this point. Just think not 2 weeks ago "experts" said it was a lock waters was going to Kentucky and canceling his iu visit Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

No because several recruiting services not named 247(Crystal ball) had Miami the favorite in that recruitment weeks before he announced. Georgetown was never considered that favorite by any service weeks before this announcement Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Following recruiting nationally and not just following iu's recruiting I have seen too many instances where the recruit has picked where the "experts" thought they were going all along and I have seen where they scouting analyst completely got it wrong. Waters has kept his recruiting in house and I feel it has been truly hard for some to get a good read on it. Jaylen brown recruitment comes to mind as one no one had a good idea where he was going We shall find out tomorrow Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Maybe but Adam zagoria and Evan Daniels are reporting the Georgetown chatter as well and neither are affiliated with ESPN and both are really good sources for recruiting news Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

A couple of weeks ago it was all in the bag that he was going to Kentucky according to some. Lol. Welcome to following recruiting closely. If he commits to iu tomorrow great and if he doesn't wish him luck and move on or at least that's what I will do Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Bryant never made it to hysteria. He had an official visit a week before and then was suppose to come up with cujo and bridges for hysteria but someone got sick. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

To me it feels like a kid with a top 5 list of schools and has just visited each and probably doesn't know where he wants to go (maybe the crystal ball knows). Maybe closer to Georgetown then any other school in his top 5. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
Uspshoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I feel if he commits in the early signing period it will be good for iu. Looking at it from a parents view if he signed early and went to ucla I would worry about him putting up with crap for his senior year for not going to iu. If he goes to ucla I would do it in the late signing period. Guy chose Virginia early enough in the process and didn't show the amount of interest in iu as Wilkes has shown over the years. Scuggs and Jackson left for prep schools for their senior year. But this is recruiting and anything can happen. Watch Wilkes wait late and still pick iu Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

To continue waters talk from Wilkes thread. I never heard waters say he was committing to Kentucky ever I only heard chatter saying he was and not going to the iu visit. Waters seems like a kid that is going to the let the process play out. I view waters going to Georgetown visit as a kid that lives nearby and wanted to check a team that he has already taken an official visit to a second look before ultimately make a huge decision for his life. I will wait until he commits somewhere and find an interview after to try and get a better picture of how his commitment played out. Everyone said the only reason Bryant choose iu was because Syracuse was in trouble and had limited schollys. Everyone but Bryant himself who gave an interview with Syracuse.com after his recruitment on why he choose iu. Sometimes recruiting can be hard to find out what is really going on and in some cases the outside world will never truly know Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

By Meyer u mean the 247 scouting service. I would recommend branching out to all of the 5 major scouting services to get a bigger overall picture. Since this is Wilkes thread I will add his recruitment as well. Meyer and 247 have ucla the favorite but Meyer himself has said iu is a definite player answering questions on Twitter. Bossi from rivals and Paul biacanardi from ESPN has said in the past iu was in a very strong position Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Troy Williams - Taiwan Beer (Taiwan Super League)
Uspshoosier replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
I was one of those people as well, like u said tip your cap to him playing at a high level in a pro system and wish him continued success. He has a little more work before I start looking at him as a candidate for one of my fantasy spots. I always try to draft a couple Indiana alums even if it's just riding the pine Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Maybe the "I told you so's were for people who said Troy wouldn't sniff or have a chance at competing for a NBA spot. "I hope u have your passport ready" Troy has exceeded some people expectations. Does it mean he will be a contributor for the grizzlies this year?Probably not but to me it sure makes his decision to leave early look more realistic then it did before Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Or crazy the things people say on internet websites and pass it along as the truth. For me I would need a little more factual proof then a poster on an Illinois fan site saying that was the case. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I hear you, I grew up with those guys as well but college basketball is a different beast today. Kids can pretty much go anywhere and they know they can get noticed. Does mr basketball mean as much today to these kids as it did in years past. Heck the Indiana all star team had kids not attend because they had other stuff going on. We might of missed out on only 2 years of Gary Harris but we did get 4 years of yogi(some might argue he could of been mr basketball). Would having Zac Irvin on our teams in the last 3 years of made them any better then they already were? In my opinion I don't think they would of been better and we might of missed out on a player like Troy (good Troy) Sent from my iPhone using https://siteowners.tapatalk.com/byo/displayAndDownloadByoApp?rid=74591having' a top rated class doesn't always translate to being successful on the court. Our last top 5 classes 1st year didn't even make the tournament. I still see Wilkes recruitment going like Theo pinson a couple years ago. Most people in Carolina thought he was heading to Bloomington and end the end he choose to play close to home so his family could see
