2017 IUBB recruiting
Uspshoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I guess I would disagree that next years team will lack talent. In my opinion I don't call 6 top 120 players a lack of talent and 3 of those players being upper class man. Balanced roster would be the bigger concern in my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

At the end of the day we are both passionate about recruiting and the Hoosiers we just got a different view on certain areas. What I like about this place is discussing a topic and seeing different point of views. Good discussion brass Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
2017 IUBB recruiting
Uspshoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Maybe not I don't know that for sure since I can't see that far into the future about who will be on the team next year. I can speculate that the team will have senior leadership at the guard position which in the tournament can go a long way and even without that precious 5 star by their names we will have Johnson (top 50 player as a senior), newkirk( top 120 player as a 5th year senior) Juwan Morgan (top 80 player as a junior), deron Davis (top 40 player as a sophomore), cujo( top 40 player by espn, 60's for others) ,Justin smith ( top 70 player as a freshman). I'm sorry I just refuse to buy in to doom and gloom for next year with those guys in the mix. Just my opinion Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

2017 IUBB recruiting
Uspshoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
My point was the team that went 17-15 had 3 star starters and 2 high 4 star. This result was after our first big 10 championship. We rolled with the highly ranked guys that year and didn't make the tournament. My point is luckily the NCAA allows teams to play the games on the court instead of just giving the win to teams with the 5 stars ( sarcasm button pushed) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
2017 IUBB recruiting
Uspshoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Our recent down year came off a big ten championship team and an incoming top 5 recruiting class. No one can know for sure how a future recruiting class will have an impact and be considered "down year period" or know one can say for sure if we landed a recruit like Preston that we automatically will be a better team. I'm sure Lsu fans thought that when they got Simmons and Blakeney that they would be playing in the tournament. They looked good on paper but paper can't win you games Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Not the first time he has taken shots at iu and definitely won't be the last. Jeff likes to troll fans of certain teams. The one i remember the most was the year uconn won it last. During the season he tweeted the were not a tourney team and had no shot at winning it all. He wouldn't leave it alone. Uconn fans got the last laugh that year. I believe last year he was on Louisville for scheduling weak along with us Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
key word per 100 possessions meaning if they played a game with 100 possessions they would give up 100.9 points. In a typical game 70 possessions are probably the norm Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2017) PG David Beatty to South Carolina
Uspshoosier replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
247 has had iu the leaders for a while, other recruiting analysts like Adam zagoria had an article on him announcing and saying South Carolina the leader. 247 is just one recruiting service http://www.zagsblog.com/2016/11/02/november-big-time-recruits-poised-announce/ I never saw one article that said he cancelled the closest was rabjohns that said he adjusted in the headlines Corey Evans had an article on Friday still talking about it http://www.hoopseen.com/news/general/201611/fastbreak-firday-kentucky-georgia-tech-unlv-host-five-star-talent Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

He is the son of the late and well respected Don Meyer who coached at Lipscomp. I believe he has a couple books out about the game of basketball. Jerry has been around the game a long time and probably has a ton of sources throughout the basketball community. I don't necessarily give the crystal ball and him heat on here but I would recommend checking out the other scouting services on a recruit instead of just taking the crystal ball as the final verdict. Since Meyer is the director of basketball scouting for 247 the crystal ball will follow his lead. People the participate in the crystal ball are 247 employees and other independent websites that don't have an affiliation with the other scouting services (Alex). You won't see an employee of scout, rivals, or espn participate in the 247's crystal ball. Usually in a recruitment if all 4 director's of scouting Meyer(247), biacarnardi(ESPN), bossi(rivals), and Daniels(scout) are reporting the same thing then it's pretty much a slam dunk but for me if they are split then that's when things get interesting. Meyer still had waters to iu well after Daniels and bossi were reporting Georgetown. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
