Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
Uspshoosier replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
A coach left. If he says his reason was going to UCLA was because of coach schilling then technically a coaching change has occurred. I will have to find it but there was a player earlier who got his release when an assistant coach got another job Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2018) SF Musa Jallow to Ohio State
Uspshoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It didn't take long for new Indiana coach Archie Miller to reach out to Musa Jallow, the No. 95 ranked 2018 prospect in the nation. "He called me one of the first couple of days that he was there," Jallow said yesterday while competing at the IndyBall event. "He just wanted to check in, start a relationship since he didn't recruit me before. He said he wants to get a strong relationship going. "He definitely seems like he has a plan (for Indiana) and seems very confident in what he's going to do." The job will be made easier by the fact that Jallow is a bike ride away from Assembly Hall and currently a junior at Bloomington North. Former Indiana coach Tom Crean made him his first big scholarship offer back in December of 2015. Since then Jallow has added offers from Butler, Vanderbilt, Purdue, Virginia, Stanford, Northwestern and Virginia Tech. One of last month's Final Four teams has jumped into things as well. "Oregon has been contacting me recently," Jallow said. "They started talking to me maybe midway through the high school season. Virginia is still pretty consistent. Butler, Stanford, pretty much all the schools that have offered me have been staying in touch consistently." A little bit from Mike Pegram article Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I'm guessing by saying I set you straight and "proudly" did so would be the reason others might of said to chill. I proudly watched my 3 year old play soccer yesterday but as far as proudly setting you straight I'm not sure how that could come across on a message board. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Durham is one of three 2017 IU signess and the first one to re-commit to playing for IU. Miller met with Lincolnshire (IL) forward Justin Smith this afternoon, and the family plans to take some time to digest everything, and Miller is scheduled to meet with Hatboro-Horsham (PA) 6-foot-10 forward Clifton Moore on Sunday. He met with smith the same day he met with Al. His family wants time to digest everything Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Uspshoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.yahoo.com/amphtml/sports/news/five-star-junior-darius-garland-183123184.html Garland's father, Winston, grew up an IU fan as a Gary, Indiana native. So naturally, both him and Darius have followed the Hoosiers as the younger Garland has grown. “I’ve been a Hoosier fan for a long time,” Winston told TheHoosier.com in February. “I’ve watched some real good teams. "The teams with Isiah Thomas, Kent Benson, Scott May - guys like that. The ’76 team. My senior year in college when they had Steve Alford, I was in school and was the same age but I was still rooting for the Hoosiers. "I loved Bob Knight. Just grew up a Hoosier fan.”
