10 Hall of Fame coaches i get wanting IU to hire a coach that will produce results compared to Hall Of Famers however there is a lot of luck involved and very hard to find. Maybe McCollum or Schertz can turn into that in the future but as of now they have 0 high major head coaching experience or even any years as a high level assistant. Most of those 10 you listed probably spent many years under working their way up as an assistant for high major programs. My opinion is Otzelberger would give IU a better chance at finding the next coach that could turn into the type of coach you are wanting at IU. I think his mind set and work ethic is something needed as the next coach. Will he turn out to be a Hall of Famer? I have no clue I just know from watching his teams the last couple years he is one heck of a college basketball coach and something I haven’t seen at IU in over 8 years. Either way I am not worried one bit on who SD brings in as a coach because if confident it’s going to be a really good college basketball coach with a great chance to get this thing turned around. Just my opinion

Just a guess but Iowa St is in the Big 12 and any coach outside of the B1G or SEC might try to jump to one of those 2 conferences because of the money difference those 2 make compared to others
