Buzz would come in and compete for conference titles and make the tourney. He has done it at every stop. 3 straight tourneys at Virginia tech is impressive. The dude is a grinder and has a love for the history of college basketball Even if he isn’t the guy to get national titles he would be the guy to make this program an actual basketball program and leave it better for the next person who could take them to the next step if Buzz couldn’t. I personally think if he was at IU that he would be able to lead IU far in the tourney

I don’t want him. Just thought going by the schedule it was that time for a new name to pop up. Even if we hired this 66 year old we would still be in better shape than the last 4 years. He has lost his fast ball but he can coach. If I’m remembering right his agents out his name out there last cycle and he probably got a nice little raise

I can’t remember off the top of my head but I have seen coaches come in and get out of some games that were scheduled and add some of their own. Definitely odd.

Fife said in an interview with JMV it was day 2 when he knew this wasn’t going to work for him

Woody was Knights favorite player and was B1G player of the and a top 5 scorer all time. Fife was a hard nose player for IU but probably not legend status. Head coach is allowed to do whatever he wants when he is in charge and he decided to get rid of Fife right or wrong

He took a gamble on which side to go with. Woody was coming off his first year where he got IU back to tourney so it was still unknown about Woodys future. Fife was just an assistant. Rabbys job depends on access. I’m guessing most in his spot would go with the school and head coach to keep his access flowing. Fast forward 2 years and he does a hit piece on the head coach as well thinking he would be gone after last year. He chose wrong and has said he has talked and had dinner with Fife and talked it out

Likes Scott and respects him doesn’t think Scott got to pic the head coach. Ripped the nba and coaches asking what the heck do they do all day (implying Woody didn’t much coaching). Players don’t respect the staff. Blames the problems in the staff and that he wouldn’t get rid of any of the players because he thinks if they actually were coached they would be good. He is retired from coaching and this last stint and his experience will keep him from coaching but did leave the door open when JmV pushed. Hates the people that are in the sport because of NIL. Crappy people and it’s turning good people bad but it’s the way college basketball is now. Said a few weeks ago he knew on day 2 that he knew his situation wasn’t going to work out. Paraphrasing and leaving out some stuff but that’s what i remember
