One good thing about coach searching season is it gets more eyeballs on college basketball. Hearing other people outside the diehards in the college basketball thread talk about watching a MVC game brings a smile to my face. -

He is my number 1 coach regardless of buyouts, white whales etc. he is number 1 on my big board. If it’s me I pay whatever it takes to get him to Bloomington. -

It has been reported he wanted to move on before he signed his last extension. Not sure about NIL however their fanbase supports them. They are 6th in overall average attendance ( IU is 7th) -

2025 and still watching kids Archie Miller recruited at IU playing still continues to be wild. Harlond Beverly is still playing. Wichita State.

Probably the single most greatest program building job of any coach. He took over a program that they involved a murder of a player. Look it up. Insane job building Baylor into what they are today -

It has been reported he holds the IU job in a higher position then those 2 but who knows -
I hope they are a 3 seed and lose because I think that’s the last one Painter needs to lose against to complete the infinity gauntlet for losses in the tourney. 16,15, 13, 12. I could be wrong though

I think he might be one of those candidates that doesn’t get talked about much however when it gets closer to March out of now where you hear a lot of smoke about. I think he is the sleeper one that might be higher then some think -

I’m 47 (an old guy)and want the same thing however sometimes it doesn’t work like that. If we skip steps and hire a shark and we are rolling awesome however if we have to settle for a coach like Cronin and I actually get to watch IU compete for the top of the B1G and actually participate in the tourney consistently then I won’t be mad at that either -

Got to crawl before you can walk. That’s where some disagree. Some think IU can skip steps and be in a position to hire a coach that can automatically put them at the head of the table. Some think it’s going to take a process and the first step is getting a coach to stabilize a middle of the pack mediocre or under (I think IU is 25-30 games under .500 in the B1G over the last 9 years) B1G team. Maybe it’s good to hire a coach like Cronin first to stabilize and then worrying about games past the sweet 16 later -
My girls travel games got push to next Sunday because of the snow that we got overnight and I’m not that mad about it. I was going to miss Drake/Bradley live but not now. Really good Sunday slate of games.

3 sweet 16s and 1 Elite 8. The year he made the final 4 still counts as a sweet 16 appearance for him -

He went to a final 4 the year before those 2 so he made 3 straight sweet 16s
